I was just thinking about how some people look better with longhair and others don't. By 'looking better' I mean that if you were to ask a wide variety of the population more people would favor long hair on that person, not necessarily a majority though. Ignoring the different types of hair (curly, straight, wavy...) and colors it seems like the biggest factor is the shape of the skull. I've noticed that the wider the person's skull the better they look with short hair (does not mean they look worse with long hair), and people with narrower skulls (with a more conical shape) tend to look better with long hair. Basically it seems to me that having a wide skull gives you more freedom, whereas having a more narrow skulls means you would statistically look best with long hair. It seems to apply to both men and women.
Has anyone else noticed this or am I fooling myself?
hmm kinda, like if you have a narrowface, longer hair usually makes you look better, it creates an illusion that your hair isnt narrow... guys with wider skulls usually suit both short and long hair.... so basically... guys whatever the shape of their head usually suit long hair... but if you have a narrow head... short hair sometimes makes them look taller and skinnier which isnt always good! anyways theirs a lot of factors to consider still...
creates an illusion that your head isnt narrow* =P
Of course, if you have a narrow skull, someone will say that long hair suits a wide skull better, and vice versa. This is just some of the manipulative crap one hears from people. Some say, one has to have a perfect face (like it really exists) to suit long hair, and self-made experts cand give any reason why your hair doesn't suit you.
I think that well-maintained long hair suits anybody well no matter what the face looks like.
Have a nice day,

P.S. I changed my nick from Wolf to Wolf-S to avoid confusion.
Even though an "Oval face" is termed the ideal by society, it appears to have absolutely no effect when the hair gets long. It is like an "ALL WIN" situation! (Of course, if your face were that of a box shape or come, that would be a different story worthy of a place in the archives of Ripleys Believe it or Not.")
I agree. The "box shape" brings back some funny memories. There was this guy in school who had a funny looking boxy head so we called him "box head", lol. He didn't like that, nor did his ego.
I hope that is true, although my wife has tried to convince of the opposite! :(
