I just got back from getting a deep conditioning treatment on my hair, and I thought it would be a good time to post an updated picture...
Nice pic, --- and great hair!
I'm originally from the midwest myself (No. Illinois); although that was quite a long time ago (moved to CA in '77). When I lived back there, it was not tremendouly longhair-friendly at the time, as I remember, --- other than in college towns. Are there many longhairs in Indiana?
Instead of just conditioner on your hair, have you ever tried beneficial oils? After showering, I massage Jojoba oil, Almond oil, or Kukui nut oil into the lower half of my hair (especially at the ends), --- it seems to have helped me in preventing so many split ends.
Take care.

In many ways, the Midwest is still the "Bible belt." However, this past weekend, I saw two guys with waist-length hair...one guy was college-aged, and the other was mid-30's-early 40's.
Short hair still prevails, but we're around :)
