As alot of us did, we all read about RedTail Wolf's recent times in a Sams Club and the way some customers there acted toward him. I didn't get a chance to post but definently had some choice words I may have said to stand up for my self as he did. So I wanted to relate a good experience. I recently went in for a doctors visit and had some minor tests run. While I was there the tests I was given required a few things to be placed on my head. The technician was a very frendly woman and when it came time to place the things on my head she said asked if I could remove my ponytail to make it easier. So like a good patient I took it out and the first thing she said was WOW, you have Great hair! and the she said I can tell you that alot of guys and alot of women love to have hair as nice as yours. So needless to say that part of the doctors appointment went well! I also had some great complimants last night at a local music festival. So I would say Redtail Wolf. Hang in there! I can also tell you that things here in the Pacific Northwest are going just fine as far as the hair acceptance goes. Here is the latest shot. Hope you like!
Hello,
As I posted earlyer, I rarely get any bad comments about my hair, except the odd recommendation that I should trim my ends.
Very recently, between two very humid days, I managed to get my hair in its "best mood", and a lady I did not know, in a montreal brasserie, looks at me, smiles, and says "I love your hair". that made me feel really good.
If I were to make stats on who gave me the best and worst comments, some would be surprised:
A lot of good statements came from "straight looking" people, like two senior ladies I met in New York who said I had lovely hair. I smiled, saying "I take good care of it", and we chatted, as I had a different accent, and when came time to part, one of the ladies said "God bless you".
Even at work, people comment about my hair in a positive way, and others say nothing (Which is ok to me).
Those who would like me to have shorter hair come from the oddest corners:
I had one coleague at work (who sports a ponytail below his shoulders) say that if I cut my hair shoulder-length, it would look better on me because of the shape of my face (See my comment on that in the board).
In the wild 80's, those who complained most about my hair, were the ex-longhairs who cut off their hair as it went out of style. Some of the wildes excuses for short hair included:
You have to go with the flow.
The sixties are over man.
The times they are a changin' and you are not with it.
I really loved the pop-psych ones like:
Your are attached to your hair (For those who did personnal growth workshops in the eighties, attachment was a "sin")
You are attached to your hair, because your are insecure about something.
You are narcistic, and full of yourself. There are other priorities in the world besides YOUR HAIR! look at the starving kids, the unemployed, the single parents, etc.... How could you think of your hair with all that suffering around you.
Your hair is your EGO... you should let go of your EGO
The popsych statements came out of the mouth of people I thought were my friends... but with friends like these ...
By the nineties, when I started working at a university, where people are generally skeptical about pop psych and new age movements, all these remarks dissappeared.
Have a nice day,
Georges in Montreal.
Your hair looks great! I hope my hair looks as good as your when it gets your length [a few more inches!].
It's nice to hear about comments like the medical technician at your doctor's office. Society needs more people like her!
I've only had one negative reaction to my hair and this was a couple of days ago. I'm a pipe organ technician and we [me and my boss] were at a church doing some work when the organist came in for a bit. He's seen my long hair before but this time, he was extremely 'stand-offish' towards me. Only towards me, not my boss. I was my usual upbeat self and didn't treat him any different than in the past. It's like he didn't want to talk to me at all. Didn't bother me a bit. I just noticed his reaction...
Keep it growing!

Very nice!!!
I have to admit, I get a bit jealous over seeing such a great color; but I guess that's because I'm gradually witnessing on my own scalp more & more white hairs move in where blonde ones used to be...
Keep it growin'!!

Yes, but from your leather jacket pick it actually looks almost like a highlight to your blonde hair. Doesn't look bad at all; I would be happy with that kind of contract as I move across the half century mark and begin again. In a few years his hair will probably be like mine; dark brown streaking with bright grey in spots. Just remember, the hair is always greener on the, er, the grass is always darker on the, anyway, you know what I mean.
Your hair looks good; don't change anything.

Lol!! Yes, excellent point, Big George! Usualy I'm not the "jealous type"; but I guess I just regret not having the length of hair I have currently, but when I was younger (when it was even thicker, as well as had a honey-blonde color, --- instead of this whitish "platinum blonde" thing that is going on right now, due to age).

Thanks for the nice comments, It just keeps growing! Thanks again
I hate to say this, longhairedone, but I think your hair is longer than mine now. Looks great! Keep it growin' and flowin'.
