Hey everyone, been lurking here for awhile. I just wanted some opinions on how I would look w/ long hair.. since for the longest time, my mother says long hair wouldnt look right for me.
That's how my hair is right now, its straight. I never really had it that much longer than that, but been considering growing it, even though its summer now haha.. SOrry for the small pic, the camera on that phone isn't that great.
also, seems like there's lot of metal fans here.. I love black metal!!

Yeah man give it a try. You only live once and its fun to see your results. You look like you would have some great straight long hair. You can always go back if you dont like it and at least you'll know right? All is well!
That hair doesn't look straight. o.O Is it really curly, or is it just me?

It's straight, it just isn't long enough to go down.
Actually, it is more or less down and looks straight to me. :)

I think you'd look phantastic with a long mane or a pony tail! The best way to find out for sure is to forego ALL haircuts for two years - no matter what your mother says. All due respect to her, but she is not YOU.

Well, hate to dissapoint your Mother, but long hair would look terrific on you! Just grow it for at least 2 years and you will see for sure.
Many times, precious little "mothers" say the same in the beginning............but when the hair is finally long enough suddenly declare how much they like it. Same with friends.

You are already off to a good start, taiji, considering some people decide to grow from a short cut. Given time to grow it out longer if you think it does not look good on you it is easy enough to change back. Chances are your mother is not just concerned about your look but job and dating prospects with long hair and also what her friends will think of her for having a long haired son. Sometimes parents even worry about gender identity if they were brought up to believe only women should have long hair.
You can reassure your mother that you will continue to be the same good person you have always been even if you don't look the same. Part of growing up is being able to make different choices than our parents would have us make. Back to your original question, would long hair suit you? My answer is that I have yet to see a person that did not look their best when they have achieved what they want for themselves.

My Mom to this very day says long hair doesn't suit me, lol. What you're asking for is an opinion and everyone has one. The person you should be asking is yourself. If you want to wear it long stop getting haircuts. Don't concern yourself with what other's opinions are going to be, do what feels right to you. I prefer long hair because I don't feel like myself when it's shorter, it's as simple as that. Go for it my friend!
