Hi, im an enthusiast of long hair, by now my hair is 15 cm. long. My question is regarding how much scalp oil should be allowed to wear in your hair,,, i dont use to shampoo it, though i rinse it everyday with fresh water... I would have no problem but when i touch my hair, my hand gets a coat of oil, and i would find it embarrasing if someone else touch that. as a long hair.. is it all right to go around with a greasie hair?
greetings and thanks.
pd. keep it growing!

Well, on special days when you're getting dressed up, greased-up, slicked-back hair can be OK, but on an everyday basis, you don't want to gross out ladies who want to run their fingers through your hair!
If you want to wash your hands after touching your own hair, I'd say you've got to much.

If your hand gets a coat of oil when you run it through your hair, I think you should start to use shampoo. Not everyday, that's just too much stress on hair. Maybe you should find out what works best for you. I have dry scalp, so I shampoo once a week. Or something like that.
Hi Manuel,
Well, there are many different opinions on this topic, even among us regulars here. Some guys here wash their hair everyday (see Ed G's story in the Links section): while other guys believe in water-only washings (click on Bill Choisser's. "On Being A Longhair", also in the Links section).
For myself, I can't stand it if I go for much more than 3 or 4 days without a thorough shampooing & conditioning afterwards. I do Gardening / Landscaping work, as well as manage a small but hot & sticky kitchen, --- both things making my hair rather gross to touch or look at if I go for too long without a good shampooing. I also do a lot of partner dancing (as well as occasionally teach dance classes); so believe me, nobody would want to dance with me if it looked like you could fry an egg on my head!!!
The best way to answer your question is for you to find out yourself by "trial & error" what works best for you... including what will scare off your dates, versus attract sweethearts to your side like a magnet!!
