It's summer again and I dread the severe humidity in Toronto--that means my hair is going bonkers from unruly waves and frizzes. I normally tie it in a ponytail around this time out of sheer frustration. However, this year I've discovered something wonderful and it FINALLY worked. First of all, frizz is a sign of dry hair, therefore I wash with rich moisturizing shampoo/conditioner for dry/colour treated hair. And while drying,I use a quarter size minimum hold Druide hair gel + one squirt of Aveda Brilliant emollient gloss---rub these 2 products bet my palms, and apply it to still damp hair from roots to ends; running a wide comb once, just to make sure the mixture is distributed evenly. Leave it to air dry. Secondly, I stopped using a blowdryer--number one cause for frizz. My hair has been tamed since, no stiffness, it doesn't weigh the hair down either. The waves are soft and manageable, I hardly notice the frizz and also--no more "poofiness" as my friend calls them. Druide styling gel is made from algae extracts, organic Horsetail & Yarrow. Aveda Emolient is made from rice bran oil, Jojoba seed oil and Soybean oil. Since both are natural products there is no alcohol present--your scalp too will thank you for it; no more itchy scalp soon after. Try it please let me know how it works for you. I am happy with what I have discovered, my search is over.
Haha another Arthur in Toronto, like me!
I do pretty much the exact same thing, except for the oils. The weather is getting terrible here, this year. But it's usually the wind that makes me have frizzy hair, since when I sweat it stays down anyways.
