Hello Everyone,
A recent article appeared in the Boston Globe, dated June 15 about the current trend for longer hair on boys. I find the title quite funny, and the "before and after picture" which is the inverse of what one will see on the crappy makeover shows.
I also find it funny that now, the press, and a lot of people percieve the eighties as a "long-haired" decade as well and there is a reference to this in the article.
Have a nice day,
Georges

Its true; a lot of high school and middle school boys are growing their hair. Around here, at least, its been going on for a couple years I'd say.

I am a high-school-aged adolescent boy with long hair, buuuut... my hair is well past "fashionable" length.
Last year, when I was a sophomore it was getting to the length where the ladies would get a trim or something and come to school with shorter hair than me. Which was a rather novel expeperience, I guess... <_<
But yeah, whenever guys with "long hair" go and get it cut for summer I get this geeky feeling of hair-satisfaction inside. I'm always a little confused though when I see a classmate with a fresh buzz cut in december... O_o Whyyyy?
Just as you prefer your hair on the longer side, there are those who prefer theirs on the shorter side. To each his own, whatever makes you happy.
My son will be 17 next month; he plays soccer for the high school. His hair is buzzed; it's what he prefers. I have been coaching his club team; soon my hair will be longer than that of any of the players.
As I have said before; if hair is the biggest issue we face in the high school years, we are indeed truely blessed.
Big George
I've wondered this myself. I've often seen people having regular short hair, and then in the dead of winter they decide to buzz it...
If they keep a constant buzz, I can understand it, but to have a couple of inches hair, and then shave it first when it's coldest... I don't get it.
