Hello Urban Cowboy,
I saw your post regarding a "long-hair friendly" hair stylist in San Francisco. I'm in the Bay Area and will be needing a slight trim of my nearly hip-length hair in another month or two and would LOVE to see a hairstylist that I can relax with. (I've walked out of several salons just because they want to cut it to my shoulders, layer it, color it, straighten it and otherwise torture my poor hair)
Would you please tell me the name of this hairstylist and which salon they work out of ? I would be so grateful to be able to get a half inch trim - and it turns out to actually BE a half inch, :) Thanks a bunch in advance !
hehe i wish i had your courage...im more likely to sit there and nod...i guess it comes with age.
There are two stylists, actually, that I know of & recommend...
Dale is the name of the guy that my friend Hester sent me to immediately following my devastating Y2K haircut. His # at the salon he works at is: (415) 986-7003. The salon is near Union Square, on Geary St.; but I don't remember the name of the salon or exact address. If you call that #, though, other stylists work there & will help direct you. The last time Dale trimmed my hair was in Spring of '04, --- so he may not even remember me! His price at that time was a whopping $65 (NOT including tip!)!!
Another guy I recommend is a good friend of mine, Jim. Again, I don't remember the name of the salon he works at now, and since I only have his home # (which I'm NOT going to give out over the intenet - lol!). Just e-mail me privately, and I'll get back to you after I talk to Jim. Jim actually first cut my hair in Y2K (I had 3 other cuts following); but I don't fault him over what was my own stupid decision at the time (especially when Jim kept saying to me, "Are you SURE you really want to do this???"). He's actually very good with long hair, --- and a tad bit more reasonable in price, as I recall.
My best tro you!
- Ken in San Francsico
I just now found the address for the salon where Dale works! Here it is:
166Geary St. (near Stockton).
Suite 1600 (top floor)
--- Hope that helps... and good luck!
Thanks a bunch ! You are much too kind :)
Darn ! The system is not letting me e-mail you.
