(e.g. straight after washing it)
i have short hair (hoping to grow it long). However, i was just wondering if it is normal for your hair to appear rather 'see-through' when it is really wet. I have short hair, and when my hair is really wet straight after i wash it, i can look in the mirror and see some of my scalp (on the sides, mostly).
is this because when hairs are wet they turn really thin? or is this something to worry about? When my hair is dry, I can't see the scalp but when my hair is very wet it is noticeable (not more than the hair of course.. just somewhat, usually on one of the sides).
is this normal?
Thanks
It's absolutely normal, nothing to worry about.
thanks a lot for the reply man. Yeah i'm hoping it's normal. I may just be paranoid. Everytime i read on a disorder or something, i sometimes convince myself i have it. I've been reading up on male pattern baldness and i guess i'm just getting paranoid. But i suspect i'm not even near to that yet, as the most visible area right after my hair is really wet is on one of the sides (which the barber did a terrible job with last time!). But thanks man, i hope you're right!
Hi,
This is perfectly normal. It's just that when your hair's wet, lots of individual strands are stuck together which leaves gaps. When dry, the distance between strands is more uniform, and very close.
