I have this habit of running my fingers through my hair whenever I'm at church or when I'm bored. Any suggestions as how to cut this out? I've tried doing something busy with my hands but it still doesn't work. I have long, fine, straight one-length hair and it's always falling on my face. Any suggestions will be accepted but please don't tell me to cut my hair!
You said it!!! I'm always running my hand/fingers through my hair, and sometimes it's at innapropriate times, (if there is such a thing), but it's a die-hard habit.
To keep hair out of my face, after I take a shower, I blow just the front back with a curled brush, but then take a bandana and tie it around my forehead. Then I push it up so it's about halfway covering the hairline, pushing the hair back, and leave it there till the rest of my hair dries.
Two things happen:
1) I get that "flip" back, which looks really cool with longer hair, without curling iron or rollers, and it stays pretty much all day.
2) The hair tends to stay back and not fall into my face so easily. (This works well for me because I part it about half-way between middle and the side of the top of my head, but I STILL find myself running my hand through it.
And why stop this "habit"? Who told you it's "irritating"?
Someone who doesn't appreciate long hair, probably....
Now that I have long hair I enjoy it, including running my
fingers through it whenever I damned well please. :-)
I guess it's inappropriate to do this with BOTH hands while
driving. Can't think of any other "inappropriate times" at
the moment....
