Hey guys... jus wanted to know bout this. Now I know it's not good to shampooo the hair daily.. only a few days to a wk is sufficient with that bein jus the 1 latherin too, I belive but... wat if ya rinse it only with luke or warm water every mornin with no shampoo? That cool or does it strip out those fine oils that mak the girls go cuckoo?... <;D
Another thing... I dry it lighly with a towel only... that doin any damage?? I use to put Extra Virgin Olive Oil in my hair once every Sunday nite, then after I'd rubed & marinaded it in so to speak, I'd sleep on a pillow with a towel on it over nite.. then I'd shampoo it out the once on Monday mornin. Can I still do all this wen it's mad long?

Keep in mind that not only are there oils accumulated in your hair, but also dirt. Shampoo acts as a surfactant that can bind and rinse the oils and dirt from your hair, which water simply can't do (try and wash your pots and pans without the soap!). So for hygienic purposes, keep using the shampoo.
Likewise I'm not sure what the overnight oil treatment would do; your hair and scalp do not really 'absorb' oils. If you wash it with shampoo the next day, it will mostly remove the oil.
What works for me is to shampoo and condition 2-3 times a week, and put a few drops of oil (whatever you fancy) on the hair.
Rinsing my hair daily has never made it too dry. If anything, it makes the oils spread better.
Don't see why not. Just don't go rough on it, is all. I towel dry my hair still (it's not super long yet, about 8 inches or so), and I don't see any damage.
