I saw this kind of thread at the gay board I thought I might start one here cause that board moves slower than plate techtonics. This is my 2 cats I used to keep in the US... but my sister somehow insists on taking it to Hong Kong then Taiwan, which is expensive, and requires a month of quarentine, because of fear for SARS or bird flu.... so this is the cat while in quarentine....
Hopefully this doesn't offend anyone- you know how people can be nowadays- but hey, this picture is nature at its best :-)
What a photo. Gobble gobble, yummy. Is that all your snake eats? dead rats?
Where on earth do you get dead rats for him?
Do they sell bags of dead rats for reptile owners like yourself?
Snakes freak me out.
Well, I'm not too sure about how it is in Australia, but here in the states you can walk into just about any Petco, Petsmart, or Petland and buy either live or frozen mice/rats of all sizes. I typically go to this local pet store that specializes in reptiles; I trust them more than a Petco. But yeah, that's all I feed him. He could eat little birds and lizards, but mice are the cheapest and easiest AND they come prekilled :-).
Hehe, fitting name. :)
I've always wanted to get a snake, but I've never really known too much about them. Are they hard work to care for?
No way! They are SO easy to take care of! As far as feeding goes, all you have to do is feed them one mouse a week and change their water periodically. Check out this site - www.repticzone.com - it's a forum that will tell you just about everything you need to know!
snakes are cool. my mom is scared of them though bc she thinks that they're slimy.
Actually, they're not slimy at ALL! They have very very soft skin that is quite dry. My mom HATES snakes too. She wants nothing to do with mine, but even she couldn't argue that it was cool when the snake ate :-).
careful... they eat snakes in taiwan! I hear they taste like chicken.
Here is my silverback boa claire. I've also got 3 other snakes as well.
I'm glad you posted the first pic as reference, or I would have missed it entirely in the second.
Your snake would DESTROY mine hahaha. How long is he? Mine (a pueblan milksnake) is a little shorter than 3 feet. What do you feed him? Mine is only big enough for mice. Do you use prekilled or live? Awesome snake!!
She is about 6'1". I feed frozen thawed large rats. She's a sweetheart but you don't want to get bit by her, I did once and it hurt for 4 days, lol
Wow I love Snakes :-)
Here is a photo of a Burmese python taken in 1987, and yes, that is me. He weighed 80 pounds and belonged to a close friend.
Absalom
Man.. in Taiwan snakes arent pets... people either beat them to death or avoid them or eats them for lunch.... I hear they taste like chicken
Wow! what a big, fat slimy reptile!
I don't see the interest in having a snake for a pet, but i guess everyone is different. Personally, i love dogs, especially my little chihuaha, he's our baby.
Nice photo Absalom, '87 was when i was born, quite a while back now. The short hair and mustache suited you quite well, a striking look. I bet you don't even remeber what it was like to have short hair, it's been that long now aye?
We have 1 dog (long haired) and 9 sheep (get a cut once a year). No wonder I only have time to post once in a while.
