i hope someone can relate to this, i shampoo and condition everyday, my hair is about 5 inches long, and im trying to grow it longer. When i shampoo in the morning i notice a little hair on my fingers when done, and then i condition, and my hands are full of hair, it really scares me. its enough hair to clog the drain every 3 days or so... i use paul mitchell haevy conditioner in the shower, and then use a paul mitchell leave in conditioner when i get out... im only 20 damnit, and i better not be losing my hair... what can i do? HELPPPPPPP
The problem may be that you shampoo and condition every day switch to every other day and see if that helps, you can just wash with warm water. If you shampoo your hair every day it will be stripping the oils that are needed for healthy hair
What he said. Your scalp may just not like the chemicals in shampoo and conditioner, or that specific one, or might not like the stripping action or be sensitive to the scrubbing.
I know that my shed rate went through the floor when I stopped using S&C, but others get the opposite effect.
Well it's normal to loose 100 hairs per day. So digest that figure before you get carried away and start assuming you are going bald. If you are loosing excessive hair try to maintain a good diet, get rest, and don't get overly stressed in your life.
Lifestyle and diet are obvious contributing factors, even ciggarette smoking has proven to increase MPB.
If you don't see any improvement and the shedding is still excessive you may need to see a specialist. Also, it might sound obvious, but you should detangle carefully and gently with your fingers to get out knots and tangles before conditioning/shampooing. Shedding is perfectly normal.
It is normal for the hair to replenish, but if your that concerned, nioxin is great for prevention.
First off, be gentle with your hair always. Don't wash using overly hot water ever. Perhaps switch to a brand of shampoo and conditioner such as Aussie...........or even Bay Shampoo. With that being said:
I remember losing tons of hair at your stage but knew it was normal to shed around 100 hairs daily. Funny thing however. As your hair grows longer and longer LESS hair seems to be lost. Mine is presently nearly 4 years worth of growth and the loss is so small as to be unbelievable.
Well just so you know cutting it won't help. I did that a few weeks ago and am still loosing the same number of hairs. This makes me think it's more due to diet or some other environmental effect.
