hey everybody-
i have really thick hair. i'd like to let it grow to about 6 inches or so but i'm a little afraid that doing so will cause me to look too much like Sideshow Bob. will it not look so thick and hideous when it gets longer??
Being the long hair fanatics that we are here (after all, this is a LONG hair hyperboard!), most of us will cheer you on the longer & loooonger & loooooooooooonger you grow it! However, most of us also understand that tripping on your own mane on the way to the bathroom every morning may not be for "everyone", SO... My thoughts/suggestions are, as follows:
1) Keep growing it out until you like the look that you've acheived.
2) If uncertain, try it even longer (you can always cut it back shorter, later, --- if you get nostalgic for what is commonly called, "the awkward stage"!
3) Get intimately acquainted with Sideshow Bob... just in case he needs a new "side-kick"!

Seriously, as Ken (a wise man) said, grow it out, find some length you like.
Half-of-your-hair braids or ponytails can be useful with thick curls, too.
