hello-
could anyone tell me how often i should shampoo/condition my hair in order to help it grow faster. i think i read somewhere that if you shampoo everyday (especially with the same product)it can actually damage hair. i know everyone's hair is different but what would you experts suggest in order to achieve maximum results--that is, longer hair-quicker.
The thinner your hair, the more frequently you can, and should, wash your hair. The thicker your hair, the less frequently you need to wash your hair. It all comes down to how your hair holds the natural oils produced about the scalp, thinner hair obviously soaks up less and makes it more apparent which can give off a "dirty" appearance, thicker hair retains more of it. This isn't to say thicker hair is better than thin though, mind you. I happen to have thin hair and I love it, no tangles, less stray hairs about the bathroom and on my clothing... it's wonderful. Don't forget, shampoo isn't always necessary water works fine on its own...but never ever go without conditioner!
