was at a local SCA event today had a good time
and seen lots of longhairs too.
it does seem renaissance faires are longhair friendly events
I just went to a renaissance faire today as well! It was fantastic. I wish I had 50$ or so to get a costume, but I couldnt will myself to spend that much on something so temporary. By next year I hope to have one sewn (sewed? lol) by a seamstress friend.
So many longhairs. Funny, put a guy in medieval garb and platemail and long hair looks brave, heroic and manly to the general public!!! Put long hair on a man in 2006 America and its feminine and sissy. Silly people.
Oh and by the way, I am th only one who is very upset at whoever invented the style change to more "modern" clothing? Those dresses the women wear are absolutely gorgeous, and if I owned a full dress attire from that era i'd wear it around in my daily life. Because it rules. Nuff Said ;)

corsets anyone? :P
Our ren faire won't start until Labor Day.
I've been to them for many years now. Many long haired
men can be seen.
I've noticed in recent years they've gotten very lax
in staying in character. Many years ago everyone including
the merchants would stay in character, now they are not
as careful about it.
I love going to Renaissance Fairs too, and we have a very nice one here in Maryland, but it doesnt start until the end of the month so I have to wait.. sigh
Well last year I went and enjoyed the company of several excellent longhairs from this board so I hope to do again this year as well! Just to be around so many in general was lots of fun, and this year will be even better cause I am almost a longhair myself :)

As far as I'm concerned, Chris, you're a longhair already. :) Your hair's looking real good!
