CHeck the cover of the NYT Magazine for 8/6/06 for beautiful picture of young fashion designer.
Though I have participated in the board with great pleasure, this is the first time I have posted a photo. I was 72 years old this past week, and because my hair is thinning I cut it two years ago, immediately regretted it, and am just now in recovery sufficiently that I can post a photo. I intend never to cut my hair short again. I am a clinical psychologist, gardener, dogtrainer, philosopher and political activist contra the foolish, illinformed, shortsited, and if I may say evil administration which has temporarily taken control of my country and besmirched our good reputation among civilized folk around the world. May we set ourselves free on the second Tuesday in November.
Hi James, and happy belated birthday! I'm so glad you decided to post a picture. Your hair looks great, and so do you! You sound like a fascinating person as well.
peace,
dino
Hi James, it is nice to see that some older guys are deciding to grow their hair long. I am 53 years old and my hair is super long. Keep growing your hair, it looks good now, and will look even better when it gets longer.

Nice to see you posting! Hope you continue to share your progress with us!
I share your opinion about the evil administration!
cheers, Pete
Hi James,
Well, it is good to finally put a face with all the posts I've read of yours over the past years. Your hair looks great, and I'm glad you're growing it back. You do make some very interesting posts, and I love to read them! Happy Birthday late as well.
Good luck with the future growing!

It is good to see another "person of age" successful at growing out their hair here; I am 52 and doing the same. Welcome.
I must express my disappointment, however, at the political views expressed. Once again, this is not a political forum. I have a response prepared in kind, but would prefer to have this forum for its intended purpose. There are countless other sites to express political views; why alienate part of a broad mixture of people on this site?
Should the majority and moderators want to engage in this type of political jesting, I would be happy to post my resonse later today. I much prefer this not to occur though. This, once again, is not the place.
Big George
Which raises a question......didn't the MLHH have a "sister"
forum that was unmoderated where you could express views
on subjects like this?
My friend, you are free; one of the main reasons being that this evil empire was willing to take actions to keep us free and ignore the tide of liberal public opinion against said actions at all to defend ourselves and keep us free.
Where is your outrage against those who intentionally and regularly bomb women and children to death? Where is your outrage against those who kill planeloads of innocent people to make their point? Where is your outrage against those who attack us first? Where is your outrage against those who attack the very moral fiber of this country which necessitates such actions so that we can remain free?
Had the last administration taken proper actions (on a much smaller scale at that time) we would not be near as involved today. You speak of besmirching our good reputation; I guess the creative use of cigars in the Oval Office while avoiding protecting our country had no impact whatsoever on that reputation.
One facet of freedom is that you have the right to post your opinion without fear of repercussion. It is the actions you so detest that gives you the freedom you say you are seeking. If you want freedom, you have to stand up for it; if you dont it will disappear. You cant have your cake and eat it too.

I agree with Big George. This is not the place for political statements.
I agree too, unless the political question concerns hair length, or making the world an inclusive and supportive place for all. As a support forum for longhaired men, it is our mission to be supportive and to advocate for those with long hair. We want everyone who shares those goals to feel welcome here.
Ditto on all that for discussion of religion, since religion is a form of politics.
