Hmm ok so this is my one shot for my August update. I think Im 4 or 5 years past the 2 year mark so that puts me at around 28 months of growth so far, with multiple small trims in that period. Overall Im very happy with my hair right now as I find if I stick to my routine of shampoo and condition roughly every other day, and then simply comb it while still wet, my hair drys straight with just a few waves, much easier to maintain than when it was shorter and flippy.
These are my last days on the east coast, on the 23rd I move out to San Francisco to go to school at SFSU woo!! haha, im pretty pumped to get out of SC
So here is the first shot, of me exactly 3 months ago. I tried to recreate my second shot to look like this one for easier comparison.
And here is the current me...pulling a sweet pose.
oops, meant 4 or 5 MONTHS past the 2 year mark, not YEARS haha
Great pics of the growth, Ummagumma!
Also, once you get out West... WELCOME, --- and don't forget to bring a warm jacket, since SFSU is in one of the foggiest / coolest sections of San Francisco (and I do mean, "temperature-wise cool", --- not the other meaning of "cool")!
In case you're not aware of Northern California's climate...
There's a cold current in the Pacific Ocean that comes directly down from Alaska, which makes even SF's summers amazingly chilly (think: "air-conditioning, BIG-time!"). Inland Calif. can be VERY hot; but not San Francisco, or other coastal towns, --- except for those few rare warm spells we have in Sept. / Oct.
But the good news is that, since I think I remember hearing that you surf... if you don't mind purchasing a wet-suit, the waves out here are hands-down AMAZING (especially every winter). If you've ever heard of the famed Mavericks' surfing contest, that's in Half Moon Bay, --- a town about 1/2 hour's drive South from SFSU. My brother & sister-in-law & nephew (who's now a senior in college on the East Coast) live within walking distance of there, in fact!
Take care.

Thanks for the compliments and tips UC. Yes, I experienced SF's weather this summer in June and was horribly unprepared. I had a few pairs of jeans which did fine but only one longsleeve shirt and no jackets! Needless to say I was freezing. But I have already purchased a wetsuit as Im definately looking forward to surfing Ocean Beach, I hear the best time of year is in the fall/winter...perfect timing for a kid addicted to surfing moving out on his own to experience the first semester of college!
WOW great hair there, Super job keeping it nice. And SF is a great city , you will love living there. Good luck on the move and school!!
Dude, your hair is like silk. Is that entirely your natural color? With hair as straight as yours, the length shows up very quickly. Congrats!
I agree with Jason, your hair looks like silk and is REALLY AWESOME!!! Have you got a pic of the back?
John
Hi Jason,
your hair is phantastic, and it grows incredibly quick! I'm envious ;-) Good luck in San Francisco!

Dude, your hair is freakin angelic. That's AWESOME. Everything - the length, the color, the subtle waves, everything - they look sweeeeet in your new update. You've really come a long way. Perfect surfer look, lol.
Good luck on your first semester, and keep that mane going!
Peace
I can't really comment because i died when I saw your new picture...
Oh how can hair be this perfect, coulçd you explain ? ;) I mean it fella, it looks so beautyfull, I hope you grow it really long. Your colour is just sikply stunning and the shape is great as well. You've conckered a lot!! Keep it growing and gongratulations =)
Thankyou for the wonderful comments everyone, it really makes me feel good to know that other people APPRECIATE my hair, which seems to be uncommon in my current situation. Anyways, for those of you who asked, yes it is my natural color but it is quite lighter that normal, mostly because I have been in the sun A LOT this summer.
And everyone, Im telling you, maybe its just me and it quite possibly could be, but I have found that basic haircare is the key to having good hair. Shampoo and Condition every other day, finger comb while wet and then wide tooth comb as it is drying. That is all I do and my hair is fine. I believe worrying about your hair will only cause more problems, because its all you concentrate on so you will notice every little detail that is wrong or that you dont like. Hell, I even neglect my hair to some extent (constant sun, wind, etc.)
Nice progress in just 3 months. I think we are all envious!
Good luck with university.
Bruce
WOW! You have one of the best heads of hair I've ever seen. Keep up the good work man, and keep us all updated! Please don't ever stop growing. :D
Wow, ummagumma your hair looks great. All of that sun, sand, and surf has not done any visible damage at all. Whatever you are doing to protect your hair is working very well. Keep growing it.
