I had mid-back hair a few years ago which I had grown out intentionally, but over the past year I have just been avoiding haircuts because I just liked how my hair looked at the time. So now it's pretty much back to being long--long enough that I keep getting mistaken for a girl from behind while I'm at work (I'm a caricature artist). I used to browse this site and I thought you guys might be interested to see a few progress pictures.

...perhaps you will not be 'mistaken for girl.'
Perhaps it is because your hair is at a stage of fullness that people mistake you for being something that you are not.
As your hair grows longer, your hair may look more 'masculine' as strange as that may seem now.
Hi SDHursh,
you got phantastic hair - great for growing it out! Thanks for posting progress pictures! All the lengths look great to me - but I have to admit, I like it the longer the better. I agree with Luckskind, more length will actually look more masculine - and the beard (albeit in an early stage) will help, too.
Keep it growing - midback must look absolutely stunning!

Wow, your hair really grows fast, and it has some great body to it as well.
Hope you resist the urge to cut it...long hair suits you well.

Being mistaken for a woman is part of the price that one has to be willing to pay as their hair gets longer. Consider it a testament to your progress and learn to accept it.
BTW - Your hair is gorgious.
One word, breath taking, I love it dude, wow it is so full lol, keep on growing,\m/
