I've been into martial arts for a very long time. That includes grappling arts such as Brazilian Jui-jitsu, judo, and so forth. I've been growing my hair out for about 1 and 2/3 years from a crew cut. Even though i can put most of it into a pony tail, any sort of significant pull on it will cause it to fall out or the front bangs to distort my vision. Is that normal? Not to mention my hair gets caught when i get pinned or am in the process of being pinned which does not help my chances of escaping. Cut your hair if you plan on going to the UFC, kick-boxing is ok for long-haired's.
Happens to me all the time. I've been growing for about a year now (not quite from a crew cut, but it was short when I started). I can get it in a ponytail now, but frequently the parts in front come out and fall on my face, which annoys me no end. I often wear a half-pony just to prevent that from happening, although I look forward to the day when it's long enough that it doesn't happen anymore. Hopefully soon.
By the way, your hair looks absolutely fantastic!
peace,

Yes finally another grappler, I doesn't bother me too much,
I just put it in a full tail, I sugest a half tail though alot of fighters have their hair in a half tail btw nice hair.
I agree....finally another longhaired grappler!
I do some judo grappling and regular wrestling with friends, one of them a fellow longhair. Now that my hair is mid-back, it takes more to lose my ponytail, though, sometimes some wise guy opponents take my ponytailer out and like to nelson me with my long locks.
Wrestle on, guy!
Plenty of girls manage to wrestle each other with long hair so why should it worry men? !!!!
