Sunday afternoon I was at a bowling alley, at the birthday party of one of my grandchildren. While I was there, a woman I didn't know came up to me and said, "I like your hair." I said "Thanks!" with a smile, and she said something else I couldn't hear over the noise, but I heard "long hair" and "French braid". My hair was braided at the time, but not a French braid. A few minutes later, the woman returned with her son, a boy about 5 or 6 years old. He had hair down past his butt, and it was in a French braid down his back. His braid nearly as long as mine, and three times as thick. His mother pointed to my hair and said, "Look at his hair!", and I held out my braid for him to see. Then she turned him around so I could get a good look at his hair. I said, "Well, it's good to grow it when you're young, and your hair's not thin, like mine."
I only hope the boy liked his hair, and was not forced to grow it by his mom. It was very nice hair, well suited to long length.
Good story! I think the boy probably likes his hair or else it would be long gone.
You know how kids are: if they don't want something--they usually end up getting their way.
