Sometimes my hair feels sore when i'm touching it, and thats always a few days after i've washed it with shampoo, you know when the hair starts to get greasy and it's been combed in a special way.
It never feels sore when it's recently been washed and is clean.
You should put more details on what you do when you wash the hair, and make sure you put every single detail in, so we could provide you with a most precise answer possible.
Anyway, it might be one of the following...
Which shampoo do you use? No, it probably isn't the shampoo itself, because every shampoo must pass some tests in order to enter production. Still, if you change shampoos every now and then, your scalp might come under shock, as it has the tendency to adapt to a certain type of shampoo. Always use the shampoo you see best results with and don't wash with any other instead, whatever the cause.
How do you shampoo the hair? Well, you can apply shampoo on top of your hair, but you must make sure it reaches the scalp skin, by carefully massaging it through the hair. If you don't do this, all the filth and malicious stuff would still stay rooted on the top of your scalp, causing soreness.
Do you fan your hair? Not only the fan causes dryness on the hair, but it could also hurt your skin. Just try putting your hand about 10 cm from the fan opening, you would see what I mean. I always air-dry my hair.
Insect bite? Happened to me several times. An insect like a mosquito basically bites you on the scalp, causing a very unpleasant area that itches.
Do you pull the hair a lot while, for example, making tails or wearing shirts? Don't... avoid it at all costs. If you're making a tail, make sure your scalp feels pleasant with it.
Whatever the reason, avoid scratching that area, just massage the area with your fingertips if the soreness is unbearable. Usually if you do everything fine, the results would be feelable during the next 2-3 weeks, so be patient. Keep in mind... whatever you do with your hair, damages it. Even a simple playful action along your hair causes microscopic cracks in your hairs.
Hope I was of some help.
Cheers.
sometimes when i would wear my hair slicked back in a pony tail for a long period of time it would be soar from having the hair going in an unnatural direction for such a long period of time... donno if that makes sense.
Since simpa88 mentioned combing his hair a special way when that happens I was thinking that too. I know my hair is happy in a usual direction and an opposite direction part can give me a nasty headache on the outside.
