Are any of you long haired men scared someone might come up and cut off your hair for no reason? when i was first growing my hair out and it was long enough to put in a ponytail i was at school and some kid came up and cut it off. i was really mad and started growing it again. luckily the second time that didnt happen. i just wanna know who has that happened to and if its something you worry about.
As for myself, no.
Although nothing as terrible as that EVER happened to me, had it I too would be scared, and for a VERY understandable reason. I doubt this will ever happen to you again..........but still since it did once, your worries seem reasonable justified all things considered.
If ANYONE dares so much as to touch the fantasic long hair you have attained, I am sure quite a few guys here would know how to take "very good care" of that person for you.
Thanks for posting your well founded concern. Hope we can be of help to you.
Your tail must have been small enough to cut off easily. A
good, thick ponytail is not as easy to cut through.
Did you know that in the days when heads were being chopped off
in France using the guillotine, long hair was pulled away from
the neck area because it could actually prevent the blade from doing
its job properly?! It's true.
Of course, the closer you get to the END of the tail the easier it is to cut off that part so you might lose some length--but further up, closer
to the head, chopping off a thick tail is a bit more difficult.
Just stay alert and try not to worry too much about it.
Good Luck!
Maybe we can use our manes as an alternative to chainmail and have a sword fight :) That's an interesting thing to know, I didn't think it would obstruct a blade's path so well.
But as for hair pranks, I was the subject of a pretty bad one in July. I was in Iceland for a few weeks, and I went to the blue lagoon, which is a heated lagoon with sulfur and a lot of other minerals in the water. They usually keep signs around the locker rooms warning people not to get their hair in the water, but some nice little pranksters decided it would be funny to take the signs out of the locker rooms :) So I had what victims (there are apparently lots of them) call "hans hair", it gave my hair the consistency of a horse tail, and it was patted down against my skull, a little reminiscent of the dutch school boy stereotype. I guess that's where the term "hans hair" comes from! My hair stayed like that for at least 3 weeks, couldn't even get my fingers through it. Traditionally people have had to get hot oil treatments after falling victim to the lagoon because it completely dries the hair. I'll be more careful about that next time..
As for cutting, I'm not worried about that at all. I've had people joke about cutting my hair off while I'm sleeping, but I wake up when mosquitos land on my hair, so I doubt anybody could get scissors near me without me taking them away first.
I had no idea that heated lagoon water could be so damaging to hair. Bad pranksters...bad!
Well, the World has always had them and always will, I guess.

My goodness, another "someone cut off my ponytail" story...the last one where a guy's wife cut off her husband's ponytail while he was sleeping...I think that proved to be false...not that your story is but seems a bit farfetched. But, it does make a good "scary" hair story!
I'm not far from Manassass, home of the Bobbits. If you're wife is mad enough to cut something off, hair should be the least of your worries. :)
Nobody has ever attacked my hair, at least not physicly. Somebody pulled it once, but it was a playful tug that didn't hurt at all. I actually kind of liked that.
I've had bad dreams about it. But no one has ever done it :)
I have thought about it. I make sure that I keep my hair behind my seat at the movies. I am pretty muscular guy and if someone did cut off my hair, I would probably beat them despite the possible penalites!
Dude, if that happened to me, I would beat the heck out of the offender, with no concern for penalties. This is coming from someone who is (usually) a pacifist.
i just wanna know who has that happened to and if its something you worry about.
Nope, never thought of it. Hey, bro... I was unable to send you a message, but I would like to chat with ya...
Hi LonghairedCalifornian,
I don't think it would happen to you again. Just stay away from certain wild parties, and don't get totally drunk or fall asleep on any parties. And, if you know that a region / village / boondocks is very backwards, don't travel there if you don't have to.
All the best, and, happy growth!
