Hey everyone,
I'm having difficulty pulling my hair back so I can have a ponytail, I have bought some ponytail bands(no metal parts) and when I try to get the band on I find it very frustrating to do this and I especially am having trouble putting the band over the hair the second time. Is their a method to this for it to be successful?
It should be pretty straight forward putting the band on. Perhaps you just need to wait another month or two for additional length.
It took me maybe 3 months to have a 'secure' ponytail after I could first form one, which easily fell off and I couldn't get the second loop around.
I'm at one year and 5 months and I notice I can do a ponytail but the very front of my hair might not be long enough yet...
The instructions worked!
But I don't believe all of my hair is long enough yet, I notice the very front end didn't go through the band but maybe I need more practice...
lol I had the same problem trying to tie it around the second time on my first time doing a pony tail. eventually i got a hang of it : )
I am right handed, so these instructions reflect that.
1) Gather hair together using both hands and hold where you would like to tie the tail with your LEFT hand
2) Take the hair tie in your RIGHT hand between your thumb and first finger
3) With the hair tie over your thumb and first finger, restrain your hair in the same place that you were doing with your LEFT hand with your RIGHT hand (So the hair tie is against the hair)
4) With your LEFT hand, take the side of the hair tie furthest away from your head and pull it over the hair, holding your hair firmly with your RIGHT hand.
5) With that done, twist the hair tie and grip your hair with your LEFT hand, releasing the RIGHT.
6) Use your RIGHT hand to pull the hair tie over your hair again.
7) DONE <- I only need two passes as I have thick hair, if you need a third, twist the hair tie, and grip your hair with your RIGHT hand, releasing the LEFT.
8) Use your LEFT hand to pull the hair tie over your hair again.
That was surprisingly difficult to describe yet I do it instinctively.
Thank you,
I'm left handed so hopefully I do it accordingly...
That's nice and clear. You improved my technique slightly!
