hey fellow long haired guys!
great supportive site you guys got going here!
i have shoulder length curly hair which i love.
however as my hair has gotten longer drying has become a really frustrating and time consuming process. at the moment its driving me crazy.
my problem is that my hair seems to dry really fast at the ends, but at the top of my head the hair remains wet much longer.
this leaves me walking around with thick (dry) curly hair from my ears down to my shoulders and wet/damp hair straightened out and flattened to the top of my head.
apart from looking ridiculous it is frustrating.
any advice would be appreciated. hopefully i have explained the situation well enough for you guys to visualise the problem, but if not let me know and ill organise a photo next time i get my hair wet.
the only things that seem to get the top half dry are blow drying and vigorous towel drying, but these cause my hair damage. so i dont do them anymore.
currently i gently pat dry with a towel and leave the rest to air dry. this is the only way i currently know of to avoid my hair getting tangled.
cheers
Some things that work for me are:
Sitting outside
sitting in a room with a ceiling fan on high
sitting in front of a regular fan but you might get added poof
Couple of things I do: after the towel I get some paper towels and blot my head with them. they are pretty absorbant and wick away more water. this will probably sound strange but since they don't get dirty I hang them up and reuse them. I've been using the same paper for several months. Why add to the destruction of forests says I. I run a dehumidifier anyway, to cut down on the need to run heat and a/c and it seems to help speed up the hair drying also.
Thanks for your responses. Unfortunately i dont own a fan.. Although Ill try using a paper towel on the top of my head to absorb moisture and see how that goes. as the weather warms up im sure the situation will improve.
cheers
