The other day my mom did some conrow braids on my hair. They felt so tight, I felt quite sick and had a headache on for most of the day. I think the hair was pulled really tight.
I opened it within 30 mins immediately as I was feeling really uncomfortable. I also founf a small boil on my head that must have been caused by pulling.
The rest of the day I just wore the hair in a simple bun.
Does anyone else know how to make good conrows? Is it always as painful?
Hmm Conrow, sounds like a processor (Conroe)
Dont know anything about Cornrows, but heres a link to a guide on how to braid them.

Hex, thanks for the wikiHow site, it is a new one to me. Some of those articles are really well thought out by their contributors. I liked how the mohawk one included the warning- "If you're living at home you probably want to discuss major hair changes with your parents, or be prepared to face their wrath."

Damn thats difficult to do.I may need some help on this one.
Since that's a distinctively African style, you might want to try visiting a local African-(your country) salon, if you're really, really, wanting that style.
You got my curiosity up, and I looked at all the registered users. There are 2 or 3 that look African-(some country) to me, but none of them are wearing cornrows.
Here in DC, we have a lot of African-Americans and some of them wear cornrows. Interestingly enough, I've noticed that it seems like the guys are more likely to have real rows, whereas women will often have extensions. The other day I was walking along, and I saw this wierd looking thing on the sidewalk, and after a minute I realized it was an extension that had fallen out. Every once in a while I pass by one of the salons and think about it; but I've never really seriously considered it because I think it would hurt. Also, I think it'd make me look like a poseur; but if you want it, I say go for it! I know I've seen at least one Caucasian guy, either on this board, or another who went to an African salon, and they treated him quite nicely. I have no idea how much it costs, but if anybody can do it without hurting you, then can.
you're from the UK right? it shouldn't be too hard to find a place considering there are west indies people living there. in London for sure you will find some.
