Hello, I have been growing my hair out long for about 2 years now (used to be a inch short) and its a few inches past my sholders now. Any way Iv always had a problem with dandruff and none of the shampoo's will ever really work. I wash my hair about every 2-3 days and after I let my hair dry my scalp is always really dry and flacky. I dont towl dry it to much just tie it back in a tail and let it dry.
Another problem i seem to have and dont think i can really do anything about it my part in my hair. I like to try and tie my hair back in a ponytail but dont want to still have the part in my hair when i do so, It always seems to fall into the part when its tied back. Any solution to this too?

(picture was taken at work one day for some kind of database, for some reason they got up really close with the camera and distort the face a bit lol)
Personally, I think some shampoo's are too strong and cause irritations on the scalp, and if it itches you scratch it, then it will flake more.
We actually have an anti-dnadruff shampoo over her that causes me no end of problems - I feel it's way to full of chemicals.
I only use mild conditioner and water - I don't ever have dandruff anymore and my hair is 'oiled' but not 'greasy' if that makes sense.
BTW your hair is great, and good length for two years, what length did you start from?
If your hair is dry (or not oily), maybe you're washing too much?? I've had dandruff as well and I figured out I was washing my hair too much and using too much shampoo.
As for tieing your hair with no part, I would advice you not to do it because you'd have to pull your hair so much that you'd end with a lot of breakage. Just an advice from someone who always tried that style on his sister and finally stoped two years ago =P
Good luck =)
