Is there a correct way to measure hair lenght? do you measure the front at the crown? the back? does it grow uniformly in lenght all around? where do you measure from?
Thanks, matt
The method I use gives a general idea of my lenght. I just comb my hair and find the longest shed hair and measure it :)
Last time it was 44cm long.
Hi Mesmerized - 44cm is way long enough to grab a lump and try braiding - I tried to write a step by step method for you to try in response to your post on sleeping. I'd be interested to hear how you get on!
Thank you! I'll give it a shot later!
depends what kind of hair you have ( wavy, straight, curly)? when you have wany and curly , I would straighten my hair and then comb it and then find the longest hair! i would measure it to the bottom of your hair to the end!
so i would measure it!

I usually measure the length of a lock from the roots to the tip. Though dreadlock length isn't the true hair length, 'cause the hair is all coiled and tangled up.

There is no one right method. I use the method used on the Long Hair Community, where you measure from the hairline at the fron to the longest point at the back. It produces absurd results for short hair, gives a number that is more than the length of any individual hair, and is problematic for anyone with receding hair. OTOH I don't have short or receding hair, it is more repeatable than other methods, and it gives bigger numbers!
