Yea, its been 15 months since my last hair cut where I was throughly pissed! I have posted here once every few months since. However, I am alittle late on this update because college took off on the wrong foot for me!
ANYWAY! I managed to get a hold of a digital camera to take pictures, but time was short so the quality borderlines unbearable(Sorry >_< )
I have been wearing my hair in an incomplete ponytail as it looks extremely messy if I dont! I heard someone say that its really bad to put hair in a ponytail until almost all your hair reaches it. Can anyone verify the truth of that?
My hair seems to be close my goal length but something tells me its still gonna take a while! My goal is to have ALL my hair long enough to have a mid/low ponytail comfortably.
Now, ON TO THE PICTURES!

Sorry if it looks messy, they were taken at night after a long day of work! So whatcha all think?
About how much longer till its long enough for a full ponytail?
At the stage you are at your hair looks super great!
I would guess around 6 more months would "just" do it. But despite, it looks swell just the way it is now.
Good luck in continued long hair growth.

You can see what's on the pics, that's what's important. Your hair looks cool, and it's very straight, so you'll show lenght pretty much as fast as it comes!
The only thing I could imagine being bad about it, was if you didn't like how it looked...
I forgot who, but someone said it can damage the hairs that barely reach the band, or the ones that dont quite reach it.
Hmm, it's not something I've ever heard of, and it sounds a bit weird to me. Don't know really.
I never heard of it either. ALL we guys pass through this period............and we make it! :-)
I honestly think you're being far too hard on yourself/too fastidious with your appearance. If you consider these pics messy, then MY hair must be the Everglades. :P In other words, your hair looks fine in the photos, and I'm sure it looks fine out of the ponytail. I'd also stop doing the ponytail, because in my opinion, it makes you look kind of odd from the front. It looks okay from the sides and back, but from the first photo, I thought you had a bob cut or something before I read what you'd typed.
They say it's bad to do early ponytails because people try to cram all of their hair in and the ones that don't fit in very well are pulled hard from the scalp. Doing this often can lead to baldness. You've sidestepped this by leaving your front hairs out.
Peace
Thats what it was! Thanks for the info! Reason I do it that way, is because I had to where I work because my boss thought my hair curls out to the side too much and he was about to demand I get a haircut! So by putting my hair like I've shown it, not only have I pleased him, he also thinks it looks very neat for how long it is and is interested in how it will look down the road!
If I sound like I alittle rough on stating how I look, its because I get told daily by my father how bad my hair looks. He is EXTREMELY conservative and nothing is ever good enough for him in all honesty.
For example he gets angry at me daily that I wear cargo pants and a t-shirt to college and other public areas((Both shirt/pants are logo free, clean and in crisp condition)) He thinks that I look like a bum or hoodlum. He WANTS me to wear a white collared shirt, black dockers and a tie everyday whereever I go.
Looking great man! Do you use straighteners, or is your hair naturally that straight?
What made you so pissed about your last haircut?

Its natural, I dont use anything on it but occasional shampoo which drys it out(more so than bar soap!)
I as pissed off when I last got my haircut because it was the day before my senior picture and I have more collecs((forgot how to spell it, but its when a section of hair grows in a slightly different direction than surrounding hair)) than you can shake a stick at. Sooo, in my senior picture my hair is all uneven looking because it wont stay combed down even with gel.
Because my collecs stick out so much when my hair is short, I decided to try growing my hair long enough to put in a ponytail so it would STAY there and not look bad nor get in the way.
Hi XaviarCraig, your hair is coming along well. To get all of your hair to fit into a ponytail and stay put, you need bangs about 15 inches long. The distance from your front forehead to the pony tie is about 13 inches. You need an extra 2 inches so it will go completely through the tie, and allow for tie slippage as well. Your hair should reach this length in about a year.
You might try 2 ponytails, one up high that the shorter hair can reach, and a second low tail for the longer hair.
