Ya know somethin'? You're the only guy in the world whom I know where's genuine, true-to-form dreads. How's that feel?
Bravo, dude. Bravo.
where = wear
They feel great, aside from being kinda lumpy when I sleep, I love how dreadlocks feel. Much more mass than undreaded hair.

Really great! Fantastic photos!
Knowing me, at your age I would have liked having Dreads alot. (One problem.) Back then they were not even known of.
Proof positive that Dreads can be fantastic!
Thanks for sharing these remarkable photos for all of us.
Justin~
You've made a lot of progress since your avatar. You look really good with dreads, and I'm sure they'll look even better as your hair grows longer.
Thanks for the compliment. BTW, it's been a while since I've been active here, who do we send our new avatar photos to now?
Here's the link: http://www.mlhh.org/crew.html. I submitted a new one for me a couple of weeks ago, and they had it up within a couple of days.

Your dreadlocks are looking very good. It's cool the way the color is lighter toward the ends.
Good luck with everything!

Wow your dreads really came out looking great. I remember at one point you undreaded them... i think. Are these ones natural dreads or did you go somewhere to get them done?
The first set I combed in in May of '04. A month later I combed them out, and starting in September of '04, I let them dread up naturally.
And here's a progress photo, though it doesn't include a shot of the dreads now.
Great length! The dreads kept well over the years and Im surprised how far it grew over the time. Keep up the good work.

Hard to believe it has been four years.....it has been a kick for me (and others)to follow your progress, both in hair growth and adventure !! I really like the last photo...
The directorl of STARGATE SG-1 should be calling you any minute...HA!
Thanks for Sharing

I love dreads , especially natural ones, and yours are incredible. The good thing about dreads are that you can grow them almost to unlimited thickness and length which would increase the terminal length for many. Thanks for the update!
Thanks for the kind words :)
Sweeeeeeet, dude! Those are some of the sickest dreads I've seen in some time, particularly the close-up back photo. It also shows the nice length they're getting. I know dreads grow slowly (or do they? I remember reading that dreads grow at like a third of the rate of normal hair, but I can't verify that), and your last update was a while back, but I notice some progress, if I remember the previous pics. Oh, and the ponytail is excellent. You should be able to do those more complex tie-up styles that a lot of rastas do back home; you know, the ones that look like large buns, or anything, really. The number of possible styles is staggering.
I love the setting. It's the perfect "true" dreadhead setting, what with the bus and all the branches. Has an almost Jamaican look to it, and on overall "irie" kinda feel to it. lol.
By the way, is that a sarong or some kind of wrap you're wearing? It looks cool, especially with the dreads.
Peace
I must be getting really old but is that good or bad?
When I started growing my hair we used terms like groovy.
Ha, it's a good thing. There seems to be a bizarre trend in recent times to make "negative" words into positives, or at least a slang meaning of them. Words like "sick" and "ill" are similar to older variants like gnarly, and I believe they originated in extreme sports culture. At any rate, they're all non-positive, but in a slang sense, they've become compliments. This is similar to the neutral and even facetious use of previous slurs like the "n" and "f" words nowadays. Note that all of these words can be used negatively as well as positively; many of them have multiple slang definitions at opposite ends of the good/bad poles.

Peace
Well, the hair from the root grows the same rate, but the lock as a whole gains length slower, because so much of the hair is tangled and knotted. It's kind of like how curly hair seems to gain length slowly, because it's all coiled up.
Indeed, there's no shortage of ways to keep my hair up, though my hair isn't quite long enough to put in a large single braid.
Yeah, that's a sumac tree next to the house I'm renting. I'm looking to move the bus into an RV park soon (since I'm living in it anyways), but for now I'm just using the house as an electric plug-in until I move.
Yeah, it's a sarong. It's my standard unit of clothing when I'm not at work. So comfertable, so easy to take off/on etc. . .
And to you as well
WOW!!! I love your dreads!
also like the bus too
hope you keep everything growing
