Guys.....there are a lot of messages on this board from guys with questions asking whether or not they should grow their hair long.
Worries about how you might fair on the dating scene.."will girls like it"...."will I be able to find a job", etc.
These are questions we all ask but when it comes down to it, ask yourself what YOU want. If having your hair to your waist will make YOU happy, grow it to your waist. Sure, there are stages throughout the growth period where you're going to go back and re-think this whole thing but let me suggest this.....grow it as long as you feel comfortable with it. When you get to a point where you know that this will never be for you, get it cut. You only live once and life is shorter than you think. Do what YOU want to do and not what you feel other people want you to do.
Ask people like Bob Berlini (further down) how they got to where they are. I'm sure they're independant individuals who went through exactly what everyone else goes through but they made a decision for themselves, they grew their hair because it's what THEY wanted.
........Cheers
Exactly how I feel. One of the best things I ever did for myself was to grow my hair out. I found that I looked better with long hair, so I became more confident and sure of myself. Long hair or not, you'll find a lot more possibilities out there if you are happy with the way you are. This is true in dating, friendship, and employment. Some people might not give you a chance if you have longhair, but for me at least there are actually not many of them out there. And besides, those are the folks I wouldn't care to associate with anyways.
There is nothing to add to from my side ! I feel the same way ! With shoert hair i thougt, that i am ugly, but now i think, i am not looking so bad. ;-)
Sorry 4 the bad English ! :-(

My husband has mid-back length hair, and its longer than mine and our four daughters' hairs! I like to call it 80s rock hair because its so curly, and he has so much of it. Now, we are both products of the 80s but I can tell you the women we run into in all different situations- shopping, concerts, PTA, Chuck E Cheese, beach, etc- always love it. Even my grandmother who is 82 loves it! We find its other guys who react most often- mostly upon the initial meeting. That said, I agree 100% that if its what you are comfortable with, it won't matter if you are doing the shaved shiny thing, the Ricky Martin thing, or the old "hair band" thing! The most attractive guys are the ones who are just themselves!
