So, here's an update:

I'd say it's looking fairly good, but unfortunately, I did some "prepping" before that photo. I combed, and put in some anti-frizz gel.
This pretty much leads me to my actualy question. Well, two. What frizz gels do you guys use, if any? I tried not shampooing every other day or so but it didn't make any difference. The anti-frizz gel I have is pretty crappy. It's made by Herbal Essences, and though it does it's job excellently for the first...8 minutes, sooner or later it just stops. Now, this may be due to the fact that it was apparantely the cheapest gel they had at the store when my Mom when to pick some up. She admitted she just picked the cheapest. I'm a firm believer in "You get what you pay for" so I think another, more expensive brand could do the trick. Do you guys have any suggestions? It needs to be something I can find at Wal-Mart, since I don't want to have to go to some salon, and buy it for $40.
My second question is...well, how do you keep your hair nice throughout the day? My problem is that as the school day goes on, my hair's quality gets worse. I wouldn't say greasy...just, certain strands stick together, and such. But when I get home just running a comb through it real quickly makes it just as it was in the morning. No, I don't comb it at school. There's got to be a way to keep it in that just-combed look, or close to it as girl's do. (or do they comb it when no one is looking? They do mystify me).
Anyways, uh, questions, comments, answers, etc?
Looks great, sort of a Geddy Lee feel somewhere in there.
And no matter how old you get it will continue. Prepare yourself.
I see girls and women combing and brushing everyday. Either that or they use a lot of hair gunk to keep it in place. Nothing wrong with combing during the day; I do it now to keep a more orderly look.
It looks great.
None. I wash it every second or sometimes every day. We have more or less the same hair type, by the way.
Actually, when I wash the hair in the evening, I don't comb it and I have no problems in the morning.
"certain strands stick together, and such": Yes, indeed, that happens sometimes and I just comb it (when it's dry!). But very few times a day. When I'm indoors, it helps but it gets messy quickly in the wind. Also, I noticed that ponytail helps keep the oils, whatever they are, good for a longer time.
I think your hair is looking great. I think anyone who doesn't comb their hair during the day is going to have the kinds of problems you mention. If I am wearing my hair loose I usually end up combing it a couple times through the day. Of course, there is also something attractive about the 'messy' look too.
I don't use any kind of friz gel... but I do use a boar-bristle brush when I brush (not too often these days). I also haven't used shampoo on my hair in a few months now as a type of experiment. I water-wash it every morning pretty well and then comb it while wet, let it air dry, and then give it another combing. That seems to work OK, but nothing can really put a permanent end to the 'frizzies'... it just happens to everyone I think. All in all I would say don't worry too much about it. If you can give your hair a 'stealth comb' once during the day it should resolve your problems, if not, just roll with it. Your hair looks great!
Really nice hair =) =) =)
You know, I can't help much with that frizz problem because altough my hair is sometimes a little frizzy, I don't do anything about it as I truely believe that products should be used as minimal as possible (I only use shampoo, conditioner and a little bit of oil sometimes).
About the "combed hair look" during all the day, I guess you could simply run your fingers throug your hair every couple of hours. I'm always doing that to keep it tidy =P I know a lot of long haired girls who always have a brush with them to use every time they think they need to. I even got a long haired lady friend who is always (I mean always) brushing her long waist lenght hair... and it is so healthy!
I hope I helped a bit =P
Gongratulations on what you achieved so far and keep it growing! See ya!

Great hair!
Do you think all those trips to the girls room are to actually "use" the girls room? Go ahead and bring a small comb to school, nobody will fault you for staying neat looking.

It's looking really good so far and a good length for 17 months. Keep going as the strightness with the slight wave at the ends is really good. You should eventually reach you're goal no problem.
