Hey guys,
I am in my 4th month stage right now and of course I going through the awkward stage right now. My hair is EXTREMELY curly and I want to let it grow until it reaches my shoulders. You guys think my hair will eventually settle down?
Thanks
One would need to see the hair in order to render a judgement.
I think all styles of long hair look good- straight, wavy, and curly. Typically, as your hair gets longer, the weight of the hair will make the hair near the roots straighter, but near the ends the hair will stay curly. I think that looks just as good as any other long hair style.
Mine gets like that when it gets warm or when I've been at the beach. Guess maybe it's the salt water or the air. Have just tried it down to my collar and it gets wild lookin' sometimes. That's the fun of it! Mike
I'd like to think curly hair looks good :P
Have a look at my picture. My hair was (and still is) extremely curly too and through the "awkward stage" my hair seemed to just be growing upwards and outward. It took about a year and a half to two years for my hair to start settling down. Your hair should be fine as long as you keep growing it, and it'll really be worth it if you have nice curly locks.
Hope this helps and good luck :)
Neil
Curly hair looks extremely good when long =) You'll have to wait some time (like 2 years) for it to reach your shoulder but it will be so worth it =) I hope you decide to grow it, curls are really beautyfull =)
Good luck!
Is your hair as curly as mine? :P If not, rest assured - mine is settling down, and it's curly enough to form little tubes of curls.
Curly hair needs time and attention to appear as long as straight hair. Depending on the curliness of your hair, it might take as long as 2 and a half years for your bangs to touch your shoulders when curly (that is, when unstretched. My bangs are below my nose when dry, but reach down to my collarbone when pulled straight), and in that time, you have to ensure that you're gentle with it, that you condition it frequently, and that you detangle it regularly. Knots and tangles are curly hair's strongest allies, so make sure you fend them off before they land too many attacks. ;P
I had very curly hair before I let it dreadlock. Curly hair seems to have a longer awkward phase before it behaves itself, but it's great for natural dreads. . .the hair tangles so easily. . .

yes, when it reaches certain lenght, but it takes long because they grow in spirals. But when you reach it, you'll be a longhair from all sides and all points of view :-)
Keep growing. Long curls are quite rare...
Best wishes, Adalbert
Yes it will eventually settle down, and be so easy, and you will get TONS of compliments.....
