Hi,
I've decided to let my hair get some length. It's not necessarily going to be very very long, but i'm hoping it will be getting own towards my shoulders. Well i'm about 9 months in and I've got a problem. For the past few months I've had a patch of hair (quite a small patch) close to my temple that it very dry. My hair is dirty blond colour but this patch has turned very blond indeed. It often gets tangled.
Like i say, it's been there for quite a long while. I'm looking for ways I can treat it so that it becomes like the rest of my hair. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
Some background:
I wash my hair once a day. I sometimes miss a day at the weekend. My hair gets greasy by the next day if I dont wash it each day.
I toweldry my hair free of allthe drips of water and then use a hair dryer to dry my hair. I know this is bad for ones hair but unfortunately if i dont use a drier my hair is incredibly unruly so this is the only way to control it. I plan on stopping once the hair has enough weight to stop curling and waving everywhere.
I use my fingers to comb my hair.
I use a conditioner once or twice a week.
cheers
Have you tried applying some conditioner to the dry area? I know that most of the time, people don't use conditioner anywhere other than the ends, but it can be beneficial to do so if you get a dry spot like this. About a month ago i had a dry spot on the back side of my hair. I started heavily conditioning that area more than usual. It improved some, but what got that area of my hair back to par with the rest of my hair was using a bit of oil on it. There are tons of different kinds. Many here recommend jojoba oil, but I just use cheap stuff like baby oil or something similar. If you use an oil on your hair, be sure to just use a small amount each time. The point is to get that area of your hair looking similar to the rest, not for it to look more oily. Hope this helped =)
I don't know but i think you are washing your hair too much... Maybe washing one day and let the other go without washing? I mean, today wash, tomorrow don't, and then wash and so forth... And I also think you should be applying conditioner every time you shampoo, since conditioner takes out the natural oils. If your hair is oily, only apply the conditioner from your ears down so it doesn't reach your scalp =)
I hope I helped =) About the specific dry patch, just try to massage well with conditioner when you apply it, and if it doesn't work, you could try out a bit of coconut oil or jojoba oil or even other =)
See ya!
