Well, whichever way you spell it, it's happening. My family's had the early graying gene for a while, my dad was fully white by the time he was 35, and my brother is getting close at 36.
Many hairs particualarly in my beard are growing in white, and I'm lightening around the temples (more very light blonde, not yet white). I've looked forward to this for a while, and I think the transition will look good in a few years when my dreads are dark brown at the tips, lighter brown/blonde in the middle, and grey/white at the roots!

I got tons of the gray, comes with being 48! Not gonna color it and damage it so let the gray flow!

I will never understand why people color their hair and "wash away" their grey. Greying hair is a sign of old age, and maturity, a visual badge, so-to-speak, of our in having succeded in living for so long. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing my mane turn grey.
I mean, seriously, who can honestly tell me Ian McKellan didn't look absolutely cool as **** in Lord of the Rings?
That depends on when you start going grey, and how quickly it all happens. I started at about 15 or 16. I'm now 35 and have so much grey that if it wasn't coloured, well, it doesn't bear thinking about. Personally, grey hair has never been my cup of tea, especially on someone so young like myself.

I'm 34, and have several strands of grey just above my ears in back of my neck. To each their own, but I love my grey.
I think all-over grey - like that - does indeed look cool.
It's when you get the odd few streaks of it (like I'm starting to get - I'm 23) now, which is when it kind of looks annoying. I've got a silver streak in my hair. I'd rather it all the one colour.
Ah, but streaks are especially cool!
ChrisG also has an excellent example of how great greying hair looks.
I have waist length hair and much of it is grey. I've earned
every single one of those grey hairs.
