Hi everyone,
I just wanted to apologise for the way I have been carrying on of late. I really don't know why I've been so crazy about my hair and thinking I wanted to cut it all off.
I had made an appointment for a haircut and was even going through some magazines of men's hairstyles. But a couple of days ago I looked in the mirror and it must have just been sitting nicely and I thought to myself, 'I can't do it'. I may get a trim at some stage soon, but after hearing countless longhairs say to me, 'Don't cut it or you'll instantly regret it', I'm too scared to just go and cut it all off.
Some of you made comments to the effect that I could use gel or hairspray to get through the awkward stage. I guess I just failed to put it into practice and that's why my hair was becoming so irritating. And I realised I haven't given this a proper chance yet. As for long hair and a buff body, well, I suppose there's no reason they can't coexist. And anyway, why necessarily be like all the other clones?
I will try not to rant and rave about this in future if things change. I tell you, who needs addictive substances when long hair can keep you well and truly in its grip?
Thanks everyone for putting up with me. I'll post my eleven month pics within the next few days.

No need to apologize. We are here for support, whatever you decide.
We all go through various stages of "what to do". I do think it is wise, however, to give it a few more months. I am at 10 months, and my hair is just beginning to break over my shoulders; it's as if I have reached a major milestone. I've gone from "does this really look OK on an old fat fart like me" to "Hey, this is really neat" almost overnight.
Keep on keepin' on. You will be glad you did.

I'm glad you are deciding to keep it growing. I think that once you get to shoulder length your hair will look so nice that you would be crazy not to love it and want to keep it =) You are in a not so nice stage right now. I have pictures of my hair from 11 months, and when I compare them to my current 13 months pics the difference in managability is apparent. In 2 short months my hair has went from having a complete mind of it's own to more or less staying nice throughout the day. With each month your hair will only get nicer looking and more manageable. Hang in there.
Oh, the pic is of Peter Steele (lead singer of Type O Negative). He is a perfect example of how muscles and long hair can coexist and look great. I look forward to seeing your new progress pics =)
Apology? That's ridiculous, that's what this place is for, especially for regulars like yourself :)
I hope you are not being driven crazy about what to do anymore because that to me seems worse than being certain you want longhair and having to regrow it. I still think the only way to really be sure of how you feel about long hair (after the 2 week rule of course) is to cut it. You will certainly know for sure at that point.
I am glad it didn't come to that though :)
hey man..just chill..youll look fine...try doing sometihng else when you think about the hair too much
I guess you proved the beauty of this community at work.
You're awkward stage looks very under control to me, keep it up.
