Here are a few pics I took this afternoon and thought I'd share them with the group. I've noticed faster growth in the last few months. Does anyone know if hair grows faster during the summer?
This pic doesn't show much hair but I think it's a cool t-shirt!

A lot of anecdotal evidence suggests it does; for example, I definitely have to shave more often in the summer (my 'cranial' hair is at terminal length now so I don't really notice that anymore although I did in the past).
This has been discussed on the board a lot in the past - there are some members who will not have it that it is other than an old wives' tale and there are others who swear that hot weather makes a difference. Take your pick!
One issue that is frequently raised is that it may not be the hot weather of itself that makes a difference but other related factors - e.g. more physical activity in the summer, different diet, drinking more fluids etc.
BTW your hair looks great!
Thanks for the comments, Big L. Yeah... I'm not really about hair growing faster in the summer. I've done a little searching on the 'net and you're right... Take your pick! :) In my case, I seem to be shedding a few more extra hairs in the shower now than in the spring. I'm not really worried about it, though. There's still plenty!

Currently, it's been 2.5 years since my last cut. No trims during this time, either. I don't have any particular goal length in mind. My goal was sort of around mid-back but it's almost there now! :) I'll probably just let it grow...

The hair there looks super and veryu healthy especailly for no trims. Appears well taken care of, can I ask what you use? Good Job and take care!
Thanks for the comments! I'm using Garnier Fructis Length and Strength [whatever that means in the real world] shampoo and their conditioner [can't remember exactly what it's called]. Usually each day I give my hair a good water rinse, only shampoo once or twice a week, and generally use the conditioner every other day. Whenever I use the conditioner, I'll put it on my hair first, then finish my shower and then rinse my hair. That way, the conditioner stays on longer. Also, by using cool water to rinse out the conditioner, it seems to keep more of the conditionter in rather than rinsing most of it off. And air dry as much as possible. Seems to work good for me. Hope this helps!

Nice length Rick. Nice color too!
I don't know about faster growth in the summer, but I know that some days I can skip shaving and some days I can't. That must speak to some short term variation in hair growth.

I haven't noticed different rate of beard growth, but then again I've never thought about it! My hair color seems to change depending on the lighting for the pics. In some pics, my hair color looks dark brown. At other times, it looks medium brown, with blonde highlights. But no matter what color it looks like, the gray is still there! :)

Rick your hair is superb, great length, and that is a cooool t-shirt. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Dave
Hey, Rick, looks good. My hair seems to be very similar to yours, so it gives me an idea of what the future holds.
Keep on keepin' on!

Outstanding Long Hair Rick. Looks fabulous. Suites you just great!
The back photo appears that we both have almost the same hair type as well as colour.
Thanks for sharing your update. You have much to be proud of with a mane like that.
Justin
Thanks for the comments, Justin. My hair is fine/medium in texture. I though it would be considered fine until I saw some people with super fine hair and realized that mine isn't even close to theirs! As far as color's concerned, I've got dark brown, light brown, gray, a few blonde highlights... you name it, I probably could find it! :)

Whoa! Your length is really coming along, Rick! I've always liked the look you have with your bangs sort of curving down over your shirt - for some reason, it brings the words "scholar" and "pirate" to mind. Quite the ambivalent image you're bringing to mind there. ;P
Your hair looks to be in wonderful condition, and actually looks especially cool in the final pic when it's all behind your shirt - the pic, combined with the hair long enough to throw behind your back like a cape, gives the image a distinctly Native American look. I mean, the picture is on the shirt, but still....
Keep up the growing! Or down, rather....
Peace
A scholarly pirate? :) Sounds good to me! I like my hair back over the ears but it doesn't stay that way for long. Either I need longer hair or bigger ears. I'll take the longer hair! :)
Thanks for the comments, Fallen Angels!

I got it quite a few years ago at an Indian art show a few years ago here in the local area. Here's a link to the company who made the shirt. Unfortunately, they're wholesale only. But still... the shirts are cool!
