Follow up to the tangle discussion

Thanks guys for the tip about using a pick or wide-toothed comb. I don't have a pick but I tried using a wide-tooth comb gently and patiently today. Once the tangles were finally out, I brushed using a BBB.
I think those ends were starved for actual sebum - not the oils from conditioners or even jojoba. So here are the results. I think my hair looks a lot smoother. I find any tangles greatly affect the hair's luster.
Even my braid is smoother than yesterday's:
Having said this, it wasn't long before I noticed tangles reforming. I'm now convinced it would be in my interests to get a small trim and plan to do so soon.
