does using gel wax on longish hair damage it???....i use gel on my hair while its still growing long and everyday i notice hairs coming out,......is this me breaking my hair or is this just the dead hair coming out???

When used moderately, gel does not damage hair. Having said that, i do not use gel on my hair :] About losing hairs, the average person loses anywhere from 50 to 100 hairs a day.
I for one don't like to use gel as my hair winds up looking and feeling less soft and mine doesn't seem to be too unruly most of the time although it seems to be developing a slight wave. I used to use shockwaves and other products similar to that when my hair was short but never when it was long except during the early awkward stage.
Best of luck finding something that works though.
You've asked a question I've been meaning to ask for a long while, as I have loose ends that could do with some gel. I have read/heard far too many rumours here and there about gel being bad for hair and its put me off using it. Also, are there any brands of gel that anyone would recommend?
