First of all I will say hello as this is my first post on this board.
I have been growing my hair now for about 1 year 5 months now. The front of my hair or fring or whatever comes down about an inch past my chin and the sides and back come down about 4 inches past my shoulder... (this is going somewhere)... The ends curl/wave/flick out at the end and I am wondering if any of you can suggest a way to tame it. I have quite thick hair and I have found that using lots of wax helps but makes it look greasey.
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Hello there and welcome aboard =)
Mmm... You mean all your hair lenght is really straight and then curls up? Well, if this is the case, there are two cases that can be happening: or you are still in the awkward stage and have to wait for more lenght for your hair to settle, or your ends are too uneven to stay in place, straight. Anyways, no matter the case that corresponds to your problem, do not cut the ends unless they are damaged. Let your hair grow and it will flow more naturally over time =)
It can also may be that your hair is slightly wavy? Wavy hair is pretty straight in the top and sometimes curls a lot at the ends (mine is doing that today =P ). If this is the case, I suggest you just accept your hair tyoe, for every hair type is beautyfull =)
I hope I helped =) Once again, welcome aboard =) If you can post a picture maybe you can get better advice =)
See ya!
Hello and welcome to the MLLH.
Wish I had the answer about your hair, but I have a feeling that you are not entirely through the "Awkward Stage." Yes, I know............many say it takes two years. Using myself as an example, the "ends" didn't really all fall straight until about the third year of growth at which time the little "flips" finally gave-up and gravity won-out completely.
