Hi there guys!
Well, it's the time of year where the weather in england starts getting a bit cooler, which means that I have to start waiting roughly 4-5 hours to dry my mop. I was wondering how you guys dry your hair when the air isn't as warm as it is in the summer.
Also, I will be posting my fifth year pictures at the start of October, which'll be my first update I've posted on here!

An impressive mop it is.I can tell it's quite thick which will make it slow to dry.Unfortunatly I don't know of any way to speed up the process other than using a blowdryer without heat.I have the same problem but in Texas it can be hot into October.A 15 minute ride on my Harley works pretty good but I don't relish the thought of doing that in a stiff north wind in winter.
I can't wait to see those update pics.
Keep it growing,
Arrick
I hope to get an answer for this too. Washed my hair yesterday at 11am, went to sleep at 3am with it still damp. Woke up and as of 3:30pm (28 and a half hours....) it's still damp at the ends -- which is making it very hard to even finger comb right now. It's 58 degrees fahrenheit in the house, and I've been used to the temperature being in the upper 80s for the summer, but it's only going to get colder from here. My hair isn't even that long, there's got to be something that I'm doing wrong. And as an aside, I've kept my hair down through this whole time, the exception being in my sleep.
Since your hair is really long and thick, I think any drying method is going to take a while. If I was in your shoes, I would just tie my hair back in a loose ponytail when it's wet. At least then it would be out of the way, and you would probably forget about it while it's drying. Of course, you wouldn't want to let it dry completely like this. That would probably give you one morphed looking hairdo when you took the tail out. =P
Same as always. With a towel mostly pressing into the hair and then letting the air dry it. For quicker drying let the hair be blown dry by a fan or even a Blow-Dryer set on the cool setting.......but this is really a pain.
Oh yes, when I am speaking of "cool," I am thinking of 60 degrees in the house.
Hi Neil, I dry my hair with a hair dryer at a safe distance when the weather is cool. I use the low heat setting from about 18 inches away. I figured a way to wedge the hair dryer between the 2 shower curtain supports, high above my head. This leaves both hands free for easy finger combing.
It was warm yesterday, so I just went outside and let the warm breeze do the drying for me. It was dry in about an hour.

Hello Neil,
I'm relatively new to the board and am planning on growing my hair out. A Newbie all the way around.
But about drying...mine's not quite down to my collar yet, as yours is way past that...I just use the lowest setting on my dryer and use the "cool" button.
I used to use heat but it frizzed my hair really bad(even when it was short). The cool temperature seems to help the conditioner do its job a little better.
Wish me luck on this hair journey! Mike
