I just started growing my hair out, (going for the vincent chase entourage look), it's been about 2 months, and I descided i needed a maintenace cut, because the neck situation was getting out of hand. well the hairdresser took the back up, saying that the top and back need to catch up. i was just wondering if this makes sense, or if I should avoid doing this in the future, and just take care of the stray hair.

From bitter experience you should avoid any sort of cuts for two years - in the long run they do no good whatever. Look at the FAQs etc and work your way through it.

Depends on what style you're aiming for. If you want the hair to be the same length all the way around like a bowl (think kid rock look), it makes perfect sense. I would wait until the front actually did catch up with your back hair line. Be very careful who you trust with your hair, though.
