hey guys
i was just wondering,
how can i go about telling what thickness my hair is?
and what are peoples views on getting it thinned?
thanks
Hi tylor,
im not really sure myself how to know the difference between thick and thin hair. Normally I compare my hair to girls I know with long hair, (as most boys I know don't have long hair). My analogy works like this - my hair is thicker than most girls, therefore, my hair must be thick : P
My view on thinning is DON'T! If you want long hair you're going to need as much hair as you can get. I can't really speak on behalf of most the guys on here but I'd guess they'd say the thicker the better.
hope this helps
Neil
thanks alot man!
your advice has helped
great hair by the way!
The way the people on the LHC measure thickness is by tying their hair into a ponytail and measuring it's circumference.
The three types-
I 'Thin' - Less than 2 inches.
II 'Normal' - Between 2 and 4 inches.
III 'Thick' - More than 4 inches.
As a guy with 'Thick' hair, I definitely wouldn't have my own hair thinned! I used to desperately want fine, straight, and thin hair because mine would always stick out sideways and give off a fro-like appearance. The awkward stage was especially bad for me, and I'm only coming out of it after almost 2 years.
..but all that waiting has certainly paid off. I'm so glad I opted not to get it thinned! I've learned that the general consensus is that long thick hair is especially admirable! And getting it layered, using thinning shears, doing undercuts, etcetera will all end up with you having to do much more work keeping up with cuts than if you were to just try and control it while it's giving you a hard time in the earlier stages.
And I say that because I got the impression when you were questioning having it thinned that you didn't have very long hair yet. But if you DO have very long and thick hair then...don't change that!
