Ive been growing the hair on my chin for over a month now, I dont know if thats considered a beard but, its about an inch maybe a little more maybe a little less. It doesnt seem that long because it kinda curls in and under. I've seen people with the chin hair segmented into to strands, what do they use to hold it together? My friend, who doesn't have facial hair, says tiny rubberbands. Is this true? Where can I find them?
I have the habbit of absent mindedly stroking and twisting this hair, probably not a good thing.
I think you can get them at a place like Sally Beauty Supply (it's a chain, and I think it's national.) They sell them in little bags of 100 for not much cash at all. :)
I can't grow a beard thick enough yet to get the braids, so I don't know from firsthand experience. The first thing I thought to use was small rubber bands though. Doing a google image search for "braided beard" shows a plethora of guys tying them off with rubber bands, so I'd say it's the most plausible way to tie them together. I imagine they must make small hair bands SOMEWHERE just for something like this..if not, maybe we should capitalize on the new market.
Yes. I live in a small college town and the only store is basically ahuge walmart supercenter (go figure...) Anyways in the hair section, wit the brushes and hair ties, there are tiny rubber bands for between $1 and 6$ dependsing on the quality for like a 75 pack and whatnot.
Hope this helps.

they probably rub a bit of oil/gel through their beard the same way they do their hair and let the strands mate a bit. i've seen people comb their beards so this is probably true too lol

I saw him with his beard braided, not just put in a ponytail, but can't find that photo...
Month ago I came across a man in a public, bald but with braided beard of circa 20 cm lenght. I regret not taking my camera with me ;)

I had a braided goatee for a couple of years, probably about 4 inches long, but I cut it eventually. Anyway, I used little orthodontic rubber bands to keep the braids together. These are actually used with braces, but you should be able to get a bag of these for free at the nearest orthodontist.
