I've been planning on getting a sword for a while now, and with my lotr fascination its only fitting that I got a lotr sword. I had been planning on a kit rae sword but last minute changed my mind. I was going to buy the sword of the witch king but decided on anduril because I thought it would look better on the wall when I'm not wielding it. Though its about as sharp as a spoon, not all that balanced its exactly what I wanted. Looks just like it did in the movie, no scratches when I got it, solid in the hilt. Heres some pics I took. I just learned how to make gif's using imageready so ill put one of those in too. share your pics of your weapons if you have, and i bet you do seeing how many people here go to renaissance fairs.
Real men have maces! Haha. Cool sword, and cool GIF. Just watch where you're swinging that thing when your hair's finally grown back.
Matt
you know i always wanted to get that mace... the closest thing to it ive found was this at mwart.com
Love the animation Helgast.
I own two full Katana sets (one finished with a black bamboo-style sheath and handle, the other finished with a red colour), two Imperial Quards style Katanas, two 'hidden dragon' swordcanes, a rapier and a cobra head swordstaff.
And of course, the only decent pic I have of me wielding one of my Imperial Katanas.
I would put alot more pictures up, but my swords are all at home and I'm an uni.
Seriously!

cool stuff man. im actually considering a katana as my next sword in the collecting. are your swords purely decorative, or are they battle ready? ill either be getting a battle ready katana, gladius or a viking sword for sure.
All of my swords are battle ready, but they all have false edges on them. They cannot legally be sharper than your average letter opener here.
And Katanas are very natural when you use them. My next purchase will be a masamune :)
Where did you buy these at? How much did they cost you? Thanks.
Some of my collection were purchased as gifts for me, some came from local dealers and some came from http://www.swordsonline.com. The price varies depending on what type of sword and grade you're looking for.
I would love to own a sword too, especially one of those samurai sword! the problem is stupid laws in Taiwan. It is against the law to have a knife (or sword) over like 18 inches that are sharp. They do have swords but its those blunt POS that wont even cut butter... but who's gonna care if you sharpen it yourself...
I have some axes, but they are all working tools. Image is of a vintage double bit at work on a madrone branch. I'm not currently using the double bit because 1) it needs to be rehung, and 2) I can't pound wedges with a double bit. My current working axe is a S A Wetterlings (Sweden) hand forged single bit...usually sharp enough to cut paper.
Every now and then I consider one of the historic reproduction working axes, but price and pattern so far have dissuaded me.
Heres me with a cheapo sword just muckin' around.
This pic was taken awhile back my hair is down to my butt crack now.
I am a huge Tolkien/LotR fan. Heck I even did a course at (Sydney) Uni- an intermediate English course called 'World of Fantasy' in which Tolkien played a big part.
So, very cool!
But:
- Where did you get it from?
- How much did it cost?
- How heavy is it?
- Are you going to get sword lessons?
_ Have you looked into Kendo?
- Have you seen "Conan the Barbarian"?
- Can you imagine how frickin fantastic you'd look wielding that sword with long long hair?

5 pounds, but the weight isnt exactly evenly distrubuted so it fields a bit weird I could swear its more than 5.
Nah no sword lessons, I just like to collect knives and stuff. It would be impossible to take lessons using this thing, its quite large, heavy, dull, made of stainless steel (will break).
Nope have not but when I used to take karate I think the guy used to smack people with what he called a kendo stick lol.
Haven't seen it either. Is that with arnold schwarzennager or that other guy... I forget his name.
YEA!!! I can honestly say that cutting the hair was one of the wost desicions I've ever made but I necassary one I think.
Don't you love the internet? LOL.
great sword and great guitar! cant beat a les paul custom for class!
wwhat kinda pickups are in it?
i switched out the stock ones for dimarzio x2n and air norton both sound great.
I currently own a full katana set, a swept hilt rapier, an epee, two broadswords, a leaf-bladed sword, a short sword, three daggers and a partially-completed two-handed sword. I'll have to break out the digital camera and snap come pics of them. Meanwhile, here's a pic of me wielding an epee (I'm the one in the white tunic holding the big rat..... long story, LOL)

yes, in answer, my favourite is a 12th century broadsword, absolutely beautiful (and yes it really is from the 12th century not a replica) I find broadswords very simple and elegant
Cool sword dude! I have a plastic sword that's fun for messing around but I intend to do take up fencing or some kind of swordplay in the near future. I've read a lot of stuff on the subject.
