    Now, it is appropriate to give tips to someone on straightening hair if they ASK for it.

    It is also acceptable to suggest that someone try something if you beleive it is a good idea, and if you have had first-hand expereince with the suggestion and beleive it to be good for a person's hair.

    The straightening issue is a contentious one as many here have straightened their hair too frequently and ended up damaging it beyond repair and had to resort to cutting it.

    I do agree that sometimes hair straightening is a fun way to experiment with different looks. There are several here who do it on a limited basis with much success.

    Now, Christian, one more thing. What is your native language? I think that is a part of what is happening here. The shades of meaning within and between languages is very confusing sometimes. Perhaps there may be some here who share your language. Then, any misuderstandings (or that which is lost in translation) could be discussed. How about that?

      Thx, and my native langauge is german, and I know good English too. And i will help the people here and not do something stupid like saying you should straighten your hair!!!
