hehe...just wondering....who was your inspiration to decide to grow your hair out...mine is HHH...he reeks of awesomeness...he greatly associates bad-assness with long hair...ahhh..god bless his soul!!
A couple of years ago, I have spent my holidays in Italy. There I have seen every day an old handsome man with long white hair. And I have thought, when I grow old, I wish to look like him and that long hair will suit me, too :) (I have never had long hair before)
Now my hair is twice as long as his :)
There are too many to name...
Here is one, Brendan Fraser.
HHH is cool too!
There are many who keep me inspired but the one who stands out the most is Gilmour:
agreed
Has your hair (and your hair goals as well) gone past the Jim Morrisson hair length stage?
...not that there's anything wrong with that!
Actually my hair is about 9 3/4 inches long in the front (bangs) and 11 inches long in the back @ current length, I hope to get @ least 6 more inches out of it, I will try my hardest to get some pics in by the end of the month, well I take that back , I promise some pics in by the end of the month.
I was listening the "Meddle" and "More" this afternoon my bus ride home. I enjoy the soothing voice of mr. gilmour too. His hair was nice also,
I saw Gilmour second row at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland earlier this year. Saw "Echoes" played in it's entirety...totally floored me. Meddle is one of my all time favs. Gilmour's hair was a major inspiration for me when I grew mine out 10 years ago. By the way...I'm going to see Roger Waters in Mountain View next week...Dark Side tour...nice!
I never had an inspiration. I always liked long hair and most of my life have had it. However, since finding this board a number of years ago, EdG IS the most inspiring for myself.
shadows fall, opeth, daron malakian
^^^^^^^^^the first people that made me go...dammit i really want hair like that!!!
the nightwish guys..
and nevermore (they all have longer than average hair)
id have to say dee snider
although his is kind of a mullet and i dont want to grow it that way :P
Mine was the Beatles in 1960s.
In recent years it is Willie Nelson.
Being more or less addicted to heavy metal music, just about all my idols got long hair.

I'd say that the very first time I became interested in growing out my hair was when I saw the movie Neverending Story in the 80s.
I think I forgot about it for awhile but then I saw the movie Stargate, and I liked the long hair and appearance of the god Ra in the movie (played by Jaye Davidson).
What a little legend. One of my all-time favourie movies and I'm sure at least on the subconscious level that his hair (from watching the film ad nauseum as a kid) must have inspired me to grow it out for the first time when I was 17.
Also best theme song for any film (of all-time baby!)
Yes, that is my favorite too...great hair.
Not really now though but especially between 1995 and 1998.
My first inspiration was the Beatles back in the early 60s.
I suppose I'd have to say that my present day inspirations are Jack Patterson from 8mmoverdose, Herman Li from Dragonforce, Danny Cecati from Eyefear, Steve August (magician/juggler), Mart (Victor's 1st Samson), Jimmy (the 2nd Samson), Floyd (the 3rd Samson), and last but certainly not least is Ed G. from the MLHH (this guy has magnificent hair). I'm sure I probably left out a few, but the ones I've mentioned are definitely worthy of idolism and envy.
I didn't have a specific inspiration, except that when the Beatles first appeared on the scene, (I was 9), I began to take notice of other guys growing thier hair long. I wanted to have long hair since the late 60's but did not achieve true long hair status until the end of the 90's. Then I cut it off! When my hair was short, I was envious of anyone with long or longer hair. That alone was inspiration enough.
Bruce
Not a great pic of HHH's hair there. Looks better now as it's longer, and better looking.
My inspiration at the moment is Bam Margera (:X) Ryan Dunn and professional wrestler, Raven.
...and if you're not down with that, I've got 2 words for ya!...
SUCK IT!!!
I've always been a big wrestleing fan myself. The first time I grew my hair out, I was inspired by The Undertaker. I'm so glad he grew it back out. :D
Triple H's hair is badass. Although I like his longer hair days in the original DX the best. I think this is one truly one of the best examples of HHH at his long hair best.
I have many.... Though George Harrison is always high on my list.
Here he is from 1970...All Things Must Pass Days...Resembles Michaelango's Christ a bit huh?
It was glen benton of band deicide who inspired to me grow long hair , it was not just hair but indeed the look he had in his face.... the other were shawn micheals liked his hair style from a kid undertaker aswell ...tom araya of slayer ..james hetfield of mettalica ... his pure 100% display of agression would influence any one to grow wild ....

There was no specific inspiration to grow my hair in the first place, but over time, I've found a lot of people with excellent curly hair (no offense to straight-hairs ;P, but since my hair is so tightly curled, there's no point trying to achieve a look I can't get naturally). It's mainly women I find that have grown out hair like mine, so people like Alana Davis, Amel Larrieux, and a girl I (sort of) know on the net with stunning butt-length hair just like mine. Slash is also a cool inspiration.
And, to my pleasure, I recently noticed Weird Al's hair. :D
I noticed his hair a while ago too while watching some parody interview he conducted with "Eminem".
Then only a few days ago I saw that "White and Nerdy" music video, and his hair was short. What happened there? Usually even with short-haired wigs you've got to have a decent amount of long hair to stuff under there, but that thing was on tight and secure if it WAS a wig. Hope he didn't cut it off, he had fantastic curly hair.
The inspiration for me to start growing was pretty much everyone in Lord of the Rings. The inspiration for me to KEEP growing? Members of this board, particularly Jason (whom I still think of as Stanley :) , Walter, Gollan and WolfEyes.
Veronica Lake!!!

From First to Last is my favorite band going on a year soon now... I don't know why, I just love them, and I loved Sonny's (and really, the band as a whole's) long hair. My hair is pretty wavy/curly though, which I have accepted, and I will keep it growing... maybe I'll have William Beckett's hair like from the 'Snakes on a Plane' music video... XD
