I have growing my hair out for only 6 months, my question is what type of hair is good for growing it long. I have always wanted my hair long and I'm going for it this time even if it kills me. My hair is thick not to thick, I can get it to lay down, it looks stupid if I try to put any kind of style in it, I'm thinking that it's just to short still. I'm ready to give up, I've tried to grow it out many times and when I get to this phase I cut it. I don't want to do this. Can I put something it, some sort of product. Winter time is coming and I can put a skull cap on. PLEASE HELP ME!!
1. all hair can grow regardless of type. now...how good appears as it grows depends entirely on which style you choose and the proper care that you use (which varies depending on your hair type and thickness or lack of)
2. you're going through an awkard phase. if you cut your hair right now it'll still look bad if you reach 6 months again.
3. you can use gel to hold your hair in place, you can braid it--whatever works for you. DON'T CUT IT because that will only make the awkward phrase last longer...even if you even up your hair a bit it'll take that much longer to grow.
4. don't brush your hair if it's curly, and i'd recommend that you dont comb your hair when it's dry....
if your hair is dry, you could use gel to keep it somewhat moist and style. i also recommend taking multivitimns to help your scalp produce more oil. if its too oily i recommend that you try to keep it from getting like that...just try to find somewhere in between.
i hope this has helped you some
Thank you for your reply.....your tips are very helpful. I'm going to pick up a multivitamin. I will not cut my hair. I get a lot of shit at my work. I work in a warehouse and there ok will people having long hair but, the guys I work with all have very short hair. So once or twice a week I have to listing to them tell me to get a hair cut, NEVER!!!!. tHANKS AGAIN. long hair rules
Eric, try not to worry so much about what other people think. I hate to say this, but most people who are not really close to you could care less if you live or die. And most people in life will stare at anyone and talk about anyone... whether we are thin or fat, have long hair or short hair, or if we are ugly or attractive, etc. That's just life. So don't worry if they make statements about your hair. They are probably just bored at work. NEVER cut your hair because other people are making comments or jokes about your long hair. You will regret it. Just act like their statements or jokes don't bother you and they will eventually get bored making fun of your hair and they will leave you alone.
I am also on the awkward hair phase right now. I cut it once before while trying to grow it out, and I TOTALLY regretted it. I won't let that happen again. Be strong, and you will be happy that you stuck it out and grew your hair long. But never give up! Anf never forget that it's ok to be different. Just remember that for hundreds and hundreds of years throughout different parts of history, men had long hair. Celebrate history!
