Man, I dont know whats up with hotmail, i have been getting tons of spams and stuff and now it locked up completely, cant log in and can't send anything. it sucks when its your primary email address and it fails suddenly, and contacting technical support is like trying to contact Eric Clapton himself. I wonder why they make it so hard to get technical help?
Sounds like you need to do a disk clean-up. On your desktop, click the START button, hover your mouse on "Programs", then "Accessories", then "System tools", then click on "Disk cleanup". It'll ask which drive you want to clean, so chose "C". After it calculates how much space can be cleared, check all the boxes and click "OK". It'll ask if your sure. Click "yes", and it'll do it.
Then, you'll want to Defrag, and then resart to clear the RAM.
This should help. Makes mine work much better!
what does that have to do with hotmail? its an online thing.
Online or off, certain programs that do a lot of functions, like hotmail, need open memory space to work properly. These will sometimes even refuse to work if there's not enough memory. If I haven't done a cleanup in a while, I sometimes can't get online, and my mail won't come up. This can happen with any provider.
Good luck!
Im defragging and disk cleanup it does make the computer run smoother, according to hotmail the reason my mail was down cause they were doing maintainence... the funny thing is that on the network status page "everything is go"... another M$ crap...
I guess the Hotmail folks figure that it's not a priority to keep it working as long as it's free. Sorry you've had trouble w/ it, but I hope it's better now. Glad to hear that the cleanup and defrag helped!
Why not use Yahoo! Mail instead?
I use two Yahoo! Mail accounts, Yahoo.com.sg and Yahoo.co.uk though I usually access them using Outlook Express or Mozilla Thunderbird on my PC or using a mobile phone's E-mail client.
Perhaps you may have a yahoo.com.tw.
Reason I use these accounts and not the main Yahoo.com is these regional Yahoo! accounts let you have free POP3 e-mail access.
Anyway. I have a friend who uses Yahoo.com and he's not reported much problem with it.
For me, Yahoo! is so much cleaner than Hotmail.
Alternatively get a friend with a Gmail account to invite you to join and follow instructions to sign up.
Configuring POP3 e-mail for GMail is trickier as it uses secure ports.
Cheers
Charles
Everyone I know has gmail, including myself. I actually still have 2 invites left to send. If you have another email address, other than hotmail, I could send you an invite to it. Gmail is the greatest =)
im using the email with my university of phoenix online... I also got one with my provider however it gets blocked by many services cause too many people spam...
