my goatee has gotten really long (in my opinion) since I made a pact with friends to grow 'pirate beards'. Well they all wussed out but i kept going... Im not attached to the beard, and might cut it soon, now that i reached this length. But these pics were very fn to take!! :)
The goatee is a little too bushy for my taste when it isnt ried.. so we'll see what happens! lol comments welcome, positive or mocking ~_^

Shiver me timbers you Look great in your Pirate Gear !
Axel
And you look the part. Where did you get the hat? Just curious.
I got the hat for $25 at a Sterling Ren Festival in Oswego NY.
found the website of the vendor that goes to my ren faire...
http://www.maddhatterhats.com/Pirate.html thats the link to my hat.
www.maddhatterhats.com is the link to the homepage :)
Sorry, bud, but it's not a good look. Your hair looks horrible in the profile pic (can you even see?) and the beard braid makes you look silly.
Hmm.. not sure how serious the "please leave mocking comments" was when I typed that...
Not supposed to be a good look... it was a joke because my goatee is longer. I appreciate the criticism about not liking the look, and thinking the beard braids look silly (which they kinda do,replicating a 15th century pirate by facial hair isnt supposed to be trendy) is fine by me.
But don't you think it's a little awkward to blatently insult someones picture??? "Your hair looks horrible in the profile pic"... lol how sweet of you to think so! And no, I can't really see in that pic, but i think I look pretty cool in that picture.
Oh, well can't please everybody. Not everyone might take insults so well, so I suggest you keep the word "horrible" as a response to someones picture out of every other post you make. This board is about encouragement, experience and sharing a common interest, not about knocking people down.

...Pirates looked all different ways. I like the pics!
Rome,
I thought every single picture was wonderful. You can't go wrong. Yes, and the the costume picture, so what if a strand is hanging loose? It's a costume! The only objection I have to the braded strands of the goatee is that it must take a lot of time to do it. Otherwise I like it.
I went to the gulf coast last year as a Red Cross volunteer, and on my way home I boarded a plane in Pensacola, FL. While checking in another man came to another line to the desk parallel with the one I was waiting at.
He had magnificient double braids in 2' long hair, slim and nicely but not pretentious dressed in sports clothes, with a third thin strand of hair tightly braided as into a rope and counter braided into a short, braded goatee. My line moved more slowly, and when I had checked in I went in search of this magnificient long haired sight, only to conclude that he had gone his way. Meanwhile, I built up my courage to ask permission for a photo, only to be disappointed when I could not find him.
Very cool look, it totally suits you.
I like it Cap'n! Your lengths coming along nicely!
Dude. Awesomeness. You should so go to work like that one day. :P And now I want a goatee, too....
Keep up (well, down) the growing!
Peace
Hey Sal,
I'd say, keep that look and the goatee - it's great! I'd say, there's even nothing wrong with wearing the goatee in these two mini-braids from time to time - even in public. On a college campus, it should be NO problem whatsoever!
Enjoy the growth - both hair AND goatee!
